I was never a big fan of Jeri Ryan

Take away her fake jugs, and you'll be forced to look at her face -- she's not all that pretty.

I liked ST-Voyager. Still the people who produced it hobbled it early on. Adding Seven of Nine helped some but the show was really the Gilligan's Island plot for 7 years; You mean you can co-opt a 29th century holo-emitter so the Dr. can walk around the ship but you can't find a wormhole that will get you home?

It started out so well, with the conflict between Chakotay's group and Starfleet.
Then after about three episodes, they all loved each other, Chakotay forgot he was Native American, Torrez forgot she was half Klingon, and it took Seven's cleavage and her Spock/Data routine to put just a little excitement in it.
Tuvok was boring, Janeway was the greatest disappointment as the first female captain (boring! annoying!).
This is the only Trek show I stopped watching...

I didn't watch past the first season and I was a rabid trekkie (trekker, whatever).

Yes, despite the '7of9' jokes, the show was clearly rectifying it's creative shortcomings when her character was added. Remember, same faltering of interest was apparent when they added Worf on DS9... 'Course Gene added Chekov for similar ratings potential...

The first few years of Voyager did hold my interest, but as most of you will attest, don't underestimate the reality of that being when the FRANCHISE was in full swing, remember..? Figures after figures stocking entire aisles, people were buying them up like beanie babies to keep them MIB, all the variants, skycap inserts, early 'starfleet academy' figures, conventions, etc. It was a huge, buldging beast, all of it. Riding on the crest of it was the new network (UPN), more expensive conventions, etc.

Once the 'crest' was ridden, shark-jumping-wise, interest waned terribly on all fronts, which is why Enterprise was not well-timed at all. Applause for it's inception and intent, but it had a bit stacked against it.

I always liked Next Gen, but come it's 5th/6th season, it was basically on auto-pilot as it's creative juices moved over to DS9, and it showed..! I thought DS9 got too wrapped into it's subplots after a bit. Voyager definitely had it's wonderful moments, and some strong characters (Chakotay was pretty cool..), but as with the other sister offerings (NG, DS9, and Enterprise) it's final years were a shadow of it's earlier creativity.

I do recall Berman wanting Janeway to recall a lot of Shatner/Kirk 'bravado' initially, cowboy diplomacy you could call it, but after several eps of 'negotiating with the Borg', that fell flat.

Even though I didn't like the show before 7 of 9, I think after she was brought in was when the show really jumped the shark.

Bringing in a "babe" for the viewers to drool over is something that had to have been thought up at an executive board meeting.

I can almost hear that meeting now .....

This show is really going down hill .... Idea !!!!! .... Trek fans are all geeks with no girlfriends , right ? .... Let's bring in a big boobed babe .... They'll love it .... Story lines ? .... They wont even care... They'll be more worried about seeing her gigantic jugs every week

    Unfortunetely, their scheme worked.
Most people that like Voyager talk about how sexy 7 of 9 is.
They couldn't care less about the stories.

Weakest of all the Trek shows, for sure. However, I liked some things about it. Janeway was, indeed, nice to look at. However, it was 7 of 9 that gave the show a real lift (I know she gave me one!). In many ways, I feel 7of9 is the most interesting Trek character ever! I watched the show on and off during its 7 year run.

Ok, i watched it too. Yep, all 7 years. BUT..... I did a lot of complaning!!!!!!!!
Right from the start i thought they made a mistake. Here is Star Trek the Classic Sci-fi show and WHAT are they doing? They're copying thier worst competion from the sixties. Yes they made "Lost in Space" Trek! They then put them so far out that you knew they would only resovle it in the last episode (which they did Poorly) or make the fans Pay to see a voyager movie after the series ended. Thankfully they just messed with the end of the series.
Then they're are gone all these years meet all these other races and don't wind up with any of them coming home with them to learn from.
but somehow wind up with a human/ borg babe to bring home.
Then there's Janeway from the future making all kind of paradox problems in the finale and yet the temporal police we saw earlier in the show don't show up to stop her!
Don't get me started on the revamped Trek history involved with Enterprise!

but i will say this. what i did like was in all the treks the made characters i could like and maybe care about enough to keep watching. even when they didn't use them well(Kes,Troi,Yoshi).

But i really felt DS9 ended the best of all of them. there was change and promotions and leavings and that went out with style to me.

Now i can only fear for what they are going to do in the new movie!

Yep...you hit the nail on the head.

I enjoyed Voyager...but the ending sucked big time...the show actually defeated itself in the end.

I Confess . . . .It was ME. . . I was watching it. It wasn't Janeway. . . it was that 9 years old elfen female Character (Fully matured female that grows older or something) that later became a super - "Q" like being, that Neelix was shagging!

An I didn't watch all of it until a friend of mine raved about it. . .then my wife said she didn't mind it . . so I hired it on videos and watched them all! It was tedious yes. . .but I forced myself! DN'T hold it against me please!
