    Not this one.

For me it boils down to his acting choices. Just doesn't work for me. There's really no convincing me, unless he changes how he plays the character.

Anyway...I'm enjoying the heck outta the Walking Dead this season...better than the highly overrated and annoying Flash...and the dumbest show on TV right now, Supergirl. Legends of Tomorrow is way better than those two.

Height has nothing to do with it. Nor does bulk. Simply ain't buying it.

Everytime I see the guy playing Negan he reminds me of Robert Downey Jr

The problem with Jeffrey Dean Morgan's slight physical appearance is due to him losing 40 pounds, as he's between roles.

Look at the dude in The Watchman as the Comedian, dude is 6' 2", and had good bulk...

On the other hand, no one seems to bat an eye at both Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Norman Reedus (Daryl)...as both are shorter and slighter than Morgan (before his weight loss) ...yet they are both considered tough guys...

Regarding Negan, they are trying to bring some smoothness to his character, showing more depth that just being a person to be feared all of the time. Take Dwight for instance, he gave up everything for his wife to survive, then ended up losing everything because of Negan. Negan likes Dwight because he knows Dwight has contempt for him, and it makes Negan happy. He could have just killed him and moved on, but it gives Negan more power, or makes him feel more powerful because he keeps him around. I think Daryl is the same thing, he could kill him, but he'd rather break him, or break him enough to satisfy himself. He thinks he'll be great leverage with Rick also.

I'm not entirely thrilled with season 7 so far, but I'll continue watching it. AMC needs to get their act together to keep the viewers, and I'm hoping next Sunday's 90 minute episode will flesh out more of the story going forward.

But he's not intimidating either. Or rather, JDM doesn't come across as intimidating. The casting just isn't working for some of us.

but the writers probably don't have any military experience. One sniper can cause a lot of problems for a large group . Negan is too small to be intimidating they should have used
a bigger actor that doesn't talk so much
You guys are too focused on the physical aspect of Negan. Size has little to no factor in intimidating and ruling over others. If you look throughout history, Hitler, Napoleon, Nero, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot, Elizabeth I, heck, polio stricken Roosevelt...none were exactly physically imposing figures...yet all ruled with an iron hand. Negan, in a much smaller scale, falls into this category.

But so did Hitler...in a much higher scale.

You don't have to be physically imposing to rule over people...Hitler was a short unathletic slightly pudgy man.

Yes, I hate Negan...can't wait for him to get it...and that's what makes him a great villain to me.
