Finally the Boogens
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082094/
is getting a dvd and blu release this coming August. Disc will be in 1:85;1 as well with a commentary track!!!!
Though from 1981 the film first had a vhs release in 1996 with some ****ty cover work. On another board someone had mentioned if back in the day it would have been cool had this film had a big clamshell vhs box release
I made that a reality:
I hope you guys enjoy this: a download link to print up your own will be at the bottom of this post.
I created a clamshell big box vhs label that is made for and fits into the older large plastic Warner Bros cases (In fact the case I used was from “it lives again”.) from the early 80’s
The cover is a combination of the Boogens book(I also used what was written on the back of the book for the tape description since it fits much better than the vhs give away the whole plot description), graphics from the vhs tape and of course the Thriller video logo for any 80’s nostalgic mayhem. I sort of made it a little worn looking since I wanted it to resemble a rental tape from that time. I did not over do it, but just did it enough to work well.
The pics below show you the actual cover (not actual size) as well as the cover in the case along with two other old big box types to give you an idea on perspective. Best part is if the case itself is a little worn, makes it look even more authentic as you can see in the photo.
NOTE: The WB clamshells are larger than standard 8x11 paper. In order to fit the case perfectly you need 11x17 paper or if you still have that old style printing paper where each piece is perforated you can trick your printer and use that (which is what I did) and the little perforated section is unnoticed

Again hope you enjoy, download link here:
