Clive Barker was quoted as saying this latest film didn't come from the "mind of Clive Barker" but more around his butt. Doug Bradley refused to play Pinhead. -
I just want to know whaddup with Pinhead's mini-me in that trailer.

A terrific new way to entice a younger generation of Hellraiser fans.

I agree completely. Douglas Bradley IS Pinhead. But this discussion does have me hungry to watch the original film. What a classic that was! I just went out on Amazon and placed my order to get the original on Blu ray for just $3.73!Last edited by MIB41; Aug 23, '11, 11:13 AM.Leave a comment:

Doug Bradley's portrayal of Pinhead was always the highpoint of the first three movies, along with the twisted and ingenious designs for the various Cenobites.Last edited by Bruce Banner; Aug 23, '11, 5:24 AM.Leave a comment:

This last one was made just to keep the rights. It was in under two weeks for less than 300K.
A reboot is in the works by a pair of really blah guys behind a ton of remakes and "Drive Angry". Wee. My hopes are dashed.Leave a comment:

The burning questions in my mind are: Why didn't Barker direct the sequel? The first film was such a success; he should have done the sequel.
Why didn't the immediate first sequel deal with bringing back Kristi's father? It stands out like a sore thumb that it's the biggest loose end from film 1. If Uncle Frank cheated the Cenobites and came back and did in his brother then the next story should have been Kristi getting her father back because he didn't deserve his fate.Leave a comment:

I really liked the Hellraiser serious up to a point. Then like Friday the 13th and the Halloween series I lost interest after the first three or four.Leave a comment:

I checked out after Bloodline. Pinhead in space pretty much killed any emotional involvement I had in the series.Leave a comment:

A couple of the later ones weren't too bad as a movie, even though their link to the original concept was loose, at best.
Like they had a decent story, not a Hellraiser tale, and they just merged them together to fit into the franchise.
The Henrikson one was pretty bad, though...Leave a comment:

Only the first one, Maybe the second one if the mythology of the cenobite hell interests you. Or the forth one if you absolutely have an obsession like I do with watching horror franchises jump the shark by going off into Outer Space.
Poor poor lance Henrikson somehow stumbled into one of the latter ones, but I'll refrain from asking him for the cost of the rental back when I attend his screening of Near Dark this week.Last edited by samurainoir; Aug 21, '11, 11:17 AM.Leave a comment:
