It could be worst. They could have picked Crispin Glover for the part.
Now THAT, would have been scary, and not in the good way either.

Maybe because the Ghost Hunter shows claim to be 'reality' TV, so you lose the idea of going to someone who doesn't believe in monsters but plays an expert on TV, if you don't want to take the South Park position that they're full of crap. I dunno.Last edited by spamn; Sep 9, '10, 7:46 AM.Leave a comment:

>That's topical and more in line with someone on TV you'd go to if you suspected supernaturalness next door.
I dunno.... maybe they saw the South Park episode with the ghost hunters? Kinda puts things in perspective.

I do wonder why they didn't make him a fictional 'ghost hunters' TV show guy, though. That's topical and more in line with someone on TV you'd go to if you suspected supernaturalness next door.We are in agreement! For a new audience, this most definitely makes sense.
With great regret, the "horror host" has gone the way of the dodo, though within my heart of hearts I hope they find some way to make a comeback. I have to think that the Internet provides some new venue for keeping this venerable tradition alive...?Leave a comment:

with Elvira returning to your screens I dare say there wil be a surge of them happy to host horror shows to get a better spot in the grave yard, coffin with a view is always good
Seeing David Tennant like that though I can't help but wonder what a good Jerry cornielius he would make, chocy biccie anyone?Leave a comment:

I dunno; they seem to be on an upswing as of late.

Sad as I am to say it, changing David Tennant's character to a Criss Angel like illusionist probably is a good idea. Local horror hosts are a relic of our past that most folks under 30 have no idea about.By sheer MMC*, I just re-watched FRIGHT NIGHT via Netflix OnDemand last week. What a great movie, and what a fantastic performance by Roddy McDowall...and everyone else in the cast.
Two thoughts:
• The basic concept is so strong, it can withstand a remake;
• Any remake will pale in comparison to the performances of the original cast and the ingenuity of the original concept.
I welcome the new version, because I will always have the fang-tastic original to watch.

Why did I read that "Buuuwahaaaaaa" in the voice of drunken Orson Welles in those commercial outtakes?Leave a comment:
