The first ten minutes of Transylvania 6-5000. The rest of the movie is crap, but the opening is great.

It opens at night with a beautiful young woman running for her life through the woods. She keeps looking back and you see Jason, Leatherface and Freddie stalking her. Finally she runs into a cave and the baddies follow her. The camera shot remains outside but you can hear all kinds of horrible noises inside. Finally, there is silence, the woman walks out of the cave carrying, a chainsaw, an axe and wearing Freddie's hat. She smiles at the camera displaying a lovely set of fangs and giggles, "Amateurs."

    If is freakin' funny.

    2) "Good news girls - your dates are here.
    What's the bad news.
    Their Dead!!"

    Funny-funny or unintentionally humorous?

The Abominable Dr. Phibes gets my vote for a great horror film leavened by humor. It just skirts being campy & has great style. The concept of the film is really quite brutal & gruesome--like Seven.

Although I love The Thing and I think it's a great film,
there are some things that make me chuckle in it.
Some of them are funny 'cause they are so disgusting.
I always laugh when the guy splits in two and tries
to ingest the other guy while holding him over his head.
There something really comical about it.
But it's still one of my fav horror films.

Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein — Lon Chaney says, " when the moon is full, I become a wolf."

Costello says under his breath, "you and a million other guys."

    classic film.

IMO, the all-time funniest scene in a horror movie is when Henry and Otis go to buy a TV from the fence in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. While not supposed to be funny by any stretch, it is 100% comedy gold.

Fence: You can't get colour for $50.

Henry: That doesn't matter. What do you got?

Fence: Whaddya want? Cable ready? Remote control? UHF? You want a 13 inch? You want a 19 inch?
[looks at Otis and extends arm]
    Bet you'd love a 19 inch.

    CLASSIC!

The scene in the theater in "An American Werewolf In London" where the kid get to talk with the ghost of his friend and his victims. That was funny.

Depends on your sense of humour and feelings towards humanity as a whole....

I wonder what a good shrink would make of people who laugh at something that is truly horrific.?

Just keep telling yourself, it's just a film.
