Thanks darklord. I thought your piece was great! I really admire the level of detail and the hours you had to put in to all the tonal differences you've got there. Fantastic. And so frickin' huge! It's stunning.

And Art...man, you really nailed the "KAPOW" of the old TV series there. Awesome!

Holy smoke, Chris!! That is ONE serious piece of pencil sketech business you've got goin' there!!!

I love the expert execution of your varying textures: The leathery appliances of The Batman's costume, the grimy brick wall in the background, etc.

What the heck could possibly be better than the image of The Batman pouncing down upon some unsuspecting evil -doers?

What you have there is another fine example of a quintessential Batman moment... and beautifully rendered too!!

I can't tell you how much I love pieces of Batman artwork like THIS ONE that capture a moment in time during an interesting episode. Everything in this moment is unfolding so rapidly that two of the hoods are unaware that The Batman is about to make their night a whole lot more unpleasent. As for the third hood... big, burly tough guy... he (appropriately) looks as though he's about to wet his pants and cry for mamma!

    Kudos! Kudos! And MORE kudos!!

    And...

(In the finest Bill Dozier narrator voice I can come up with):

And WHAT'S THIS??!! A beautiful painting of the Terrific Trio... and Catwoman too?? A stunning work rendered in vibrant colors... and admired by none other than ADAM WEST HIMSELF??

Will the Mego Museum members faint dead away when they see this amazing work of art?? Can the museum's Batman fans take that level of artistic excitement??

Tune in tomorrow!! Same Bat-Time. Same Bat Channel!!

Wow, it never ceases to amaze me how many great artists are here. It's all fantastic stuff guys.

Oddly enough, I don't have most of my Batman stuffed scanned in. This is one I have access to. I did it a few years back:

    Awesome stuff!
Love the West Batman. I used to draw him much the same when I was younger. I always loved the TV show look. All I ever had were View Master reels for reference though. Maybe now that I have actual photos, I might try a West Bats again. Hopefully it comes out half as good as yours.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

    MORE!

Thanks, Guys! hey Darklord I did notice the Infantino pose it's a great take on the classic cover. Funny thing is I'm drawing that same classic cover for myself also. Except with Adam West and Burt Ward. I've always drawn Adam without the eyes cause i never liked the way his eyes looked in the mask. As for the rest of that drawing with most of the villians it was too big for my scanner so i had to break it up into parts...

I love the Joker.i always thought the Joker should scare the poop out of you. He's someone you don't want to be in the same room with. So when i draw him there is a sense of madness in his eye's.

Hey Jessica love those Fashion drawings!!! great sense of composition and style!

and of course Hector the fact that you've taken to ilustrator and ran with it shows mad skills compadre! plus That avatar with the mego style head is so original.

Ding Ding Ding!!! Give that man a prize!! You're the first to mention my somewhat loose homage to the classic Carmine Infantino "crusaders" pin up!

Yeah, I've always loved that image and Infantino's dynamic composition. I tried to give it a new spin, but you know what they say: Nothing beats an original.

Kind of a tough act to follow DL. Nobody wants to see my boring stuff after this. Man it's like an anticlimactic ending to a great movie.

My goodness, Jessica!! You are a tremenedous talent! No apologies required!!! Are you kidding me?????

I love the artistry and pencil skill of your fashion sketches, and the very first abstract piece you posted is just stunning!!

Batman-related or NOT, you should proudly take a bow, girl!! You richly deserve it

Steve... I... I... I am speechless! Your Adam West piece leaves me completely in awe! That's a gorgeous work! I'd love to see the rest of it with the montage of TV villains around Batman!

I'm also VERY intrigued to see the Adam West version of Batman rendered with the blank eyes! A very, very nice choice. That would have been incredible to see in live action if they had gone in that direction with the tone of the show.

In addition, your rendition of The Joker is absolutely nightmarish. Your proficiency with a pencil is just sublime, my friend.

A standing ovation for you my friend... followed by me kneeling before you!

Any of the pieces demonstrated here by either of you could hang perfectly in an art gallery, and command some serious money!

There is some unbelievable talent here on these boards. I suppose it's completely appropriate that we are all members of this awesome museum.

Sadly, I am out of practice...never enough time. Too many hands pulling me this way and that with mommy duties. Maybe as the kids get older and they are not so much hands on for me, I can pick it up again.
