I noticed this same reaction towards Sex in the City when it was coming out as a feature film. I have no plans to see either but it seems some films geared towards women are too much for male audiences to take.Leave a comment:

well, without reading all the pages of this post...I have showed it at the theater three times thus far. Each show has been a sell-out and people sat nearly an hour just to get the good seats.
But...it is waaay weird seeing Pierce Brosnan (spell?) do Braodway style singing....does not work.Leave a comment:

OK, confession time... I saw Mamma Mia and I loved it. I also saw Dark Knight later the same night and loved it too. Call me a freak if you must but I love both action and musical movies. I've always been all over the map (I have been an ABBA fan for years but also am a fan of very heavy metal and country) JOHN
That's one seriously WEIRD night...You should have added Gonzo for a chaser...

I love my girl friend. She is dying to see Dark Knight and NOT mamma mia. I would rather have scalding water poured over my head with a bad sunburn.Leave a comment:

This is the lowest form of entertainment life... a jukebox musical turned movie...
I don't like musicals... there are exceptions like West Side Story, 3-Penny Opera, Rocky Horror, and Blues Bros. ... but I can't get anywhere near this Mama Mia stuff!
