A really cool documentary on Hunter S Thompson is most likely going to beat Batman this week for me, I swear I don't even know who I am anymore. -
You can certainly wait until the crowds die down...you'll be then watching the movie almost by yourself.

The heck with the kiddies...this movie was made FOR ME!!!i saw it last night. i will say no more as to not reveal anything.
my only piece of advice is to people planning to take their small kids to see this movie---DON'T DON'T DON'T.
it is a tough, sprawling, nasty, grim exploration of people in moral decay, punctuated with bursts of incredible violence. any small child seeing Heath Ledger as the Joker will have nightmares from it, of that i am sure.
there is virtually no joy to this movie, no sense of the inherent fun of Batman--as grim as he is--and Nolan's vision of Batman and his world in this movie is one of pure, chaotic hell.
TDK may in fact be a brilliant movie--i still need to process it--but its a 2 and 1/2 hour trip through physical and emotional hell, and i really implore any parent planning to take their kid to see this movie to see it by themselves FIRST, then decide.
Warners has no business marketing this movie--via toys--to children. it is entirely inappropriate for them.
rob!
I loved it...will watch it a hundred more times, lol.

Exactly!
...Actually, I shouldnt complain too much. I remember one movie(I think it was one of the schumacher Batman flicks) I went too with some buddies...we sat there trying to figure out "who died" for most of the film, scrutinizing these two greasy biker dudes in front of us, but then discovered later on (as we realized the stench wasnt going away) that one of us, Ron, had stepped in some Doggy business of the worst kind, and was the source of our lamentation and weeping (seriously, our eyes were watering!).Leave a comment:

I'll wait for the DVD as the last movie i saw at the theater i had to put up with the jerk and his cell phone kids throwing popcorn over price soda and popcorn, Cheaper to wait for the DVD and enjoy the movie at home

In my old age I have learned that it's best to avoid movies like this on the opening weekend. Theaters are usually packed, and you end up standing in line forever.
Wait a week until the hoopla has died down, and if you catch a matinee you wont have to sit beside somebody who smells like their cat "sprayed" them after they tumbled through the gut tank at a slaughterhouse.

I'm avoiding the movie. The way the Joker looks frightens me and I don't think I will enjoy it.Leave a comment:

Monday night I'm having a couple of beers with our card printer and then I'm running out to catch the 6pm showing by my lonesome.
In two or so weeks, I will deposit my progeny at my folks, have a fancy dinner (translation: a place with cloth napkins ) with my wife in the city and see the Imax show.Leave a comment:
