I had the Philly teams in the golden age. We had the Broad Street Bullies, who won a cup. We had the Phillies who won a series. The Eagles lost a Super Bowl, while the Dr. J Sixers were great for years.

Now I still follow the Eagles, but I don't see the others that often. Instead, I have Ohio State football, and Penn State to a lesser extent. Then there's bowl season and the NFL playoffs. I have the Blue Jackets. I have March Madness, followed by NHL & NBA playoffs. NACAR is good for the occasional race...the Tour de France and Korean Baseball (NC Dinos) are good background entertainment. And of course, rasslin is year-round.

So, I guess as a kid it was cool to have limited choices because those teams were good. But as an adult, I like having more options available.

As much as it pains me to give kudos to Steelers' Super Bowl wins, I still think the two with the Cowboys are the best on record.

I remember Joe Cribbs being one of the first, if not the first, NFL player to rock this facemask.

The Buffalo Sabres. My earliest memories are late 70s, so Perreault, Gare, Schoenfeld, Ramsay, Playfair, Sauve, Ramsey (from Miracle on Ice Team USA in 1980), etc. So after The French Connection's heyday.

But I was also a fan of the NFL Saints when they were terrible, The Seahawks because I thought Jim Zorn being a left handed QB was cool (I am not a lefty, but I learned to throw a football with my left because of Zorn and Ken Stabler), The 70s Steelers, and Washington; in the NHL, I loved the Blackhawks and the Pelle Lindburgh Flyers.

I was never a big Basketball fan as a kid, but in the mid-80s I got into it with the NBA Lakers and Knicks (because of Patrick Ewing), NCAA Georgetown Hoyas (because of Patrick Ewing), North Carolina Tar Heels (post-Jordan) and Kentucky Wildcats.

Baseball was always low on my list, but I loved the Dwight Gooden and Daryl Strawberry NY Mets.

I grew up in the time of the Big Red Machine throughout the 70’s.

It was also the time of WKRP in Cincinnati (where Sparky Anderson was a guest star) and the town of Cincinnati was never a cooler place than then.

Listened all my life to Joe and Marty do the play-by-play. I’m not a fair-weather fan of the Reds and the Bengals. The Reds have had more down years than good years since, but hope springs eternal. The Bengals are making strides.

It’s just one more way I revisit my youth and great times, along with those marvelous toys.

Well for me locally it’s New England Patriots and that goes back to the early 70’s when they were terrible and the Boston Celtics.

I also cheer for the L.A. Rams, L.A. Dodgers and L.A. Kings and I live in Boston so go figure that one out.

College Football, Boston College Eagles and Hawaii Warriors.

Growing up it was the Mets and Giants of the 80's. These days...

    MLB--Yankees
    NFL--Patriots
    NBA--Celtics
college basketball--UCONN men and women (I went there)
college football--any team that beats Alabama!

    Bay Area native here.

    Niners
    Raiders
Cal Bears (I don’t follow Stanford)
    GS Warriors
    Giants
    A’s
    Sharks

Don’t follow MLB much these day…same with hockey.

I also like boxing, some MMA, and international soccer, especially the World Cup.

Same for me. Loved Jordan and the Bulls as a kid. Besides them, I cheered for all the local teams (Braves, Falcons, Hawks, Knights, etc…)

I did cheer for the Packers while Favre was there, as he was a former Falcon.

Also loved Dale Earnhardt and cried for days when he died.

NFL Football in general was such a HUGE thing for me in the 70s. My favorite team in that time frame was the Cowboys, but my time as a fan ended when Jerry Jones bought the team. After that, I have been mostly a fan of certain players or line ups. I have been following the Chiefs and Steelers a lot in recent years, though. I still follow the NFL during the season, but my real passion for the league is combing through the History of it. I like reading about other pro leagues like the AAFC which gave us the Browns and 49ers and learning things like how there was a brief period in the early 60s when Dallas and Pittsburgh were in the same conference in the NFL.

I LOVED paging through the Sears Wishbook, dreaming about their NFL gear!

Got to see the Showtime Lakers in their prime, running up and down at the Fabulous Forum. Unfortunately, I stopped following them in 2018 when Little Brain James joined the team. There are some people you just can't cheer for.

I did fall in love with the home team during the Flyers' Stanley Cups runs in the 70s. Early signs of collectoritis were present when I used to rummage though the refrigerated sections at Wawa, trying to find the Canada Dry Ginger Ale cans with Flyers players on the back that I didn't have yet. I still beam with pride telling the tale of the Soviet team fleeing the ice in fear of the Flyers!

As for the "other" football, Johan Cruyff made me a Barcelona fan. Even though I've always played in goal, I related to how he changed the game as a player and then as a coach at Camp Nou. I say "changed" because I didn't really know about Cruyff until his coaching days.
