The MASH one, with the player getting tranquilized mid-game, was from the movie. Unless maybe they reused that bit for one of the episodes....?

Oh yeah, the Columbo one was excellent.

I think MASH had another one where they tranquilized a player.

Maybe Mork and Mindy had something.

Not really football themed but there's that well known Brady Bunch episode where Marcia interrupts the boys when theyre playing football and gets hit in the nose with a football. Then later Nicholas Hammond breaks off their date.
Also discovered recently that Lisa Eilbacher is in the episode too, she later went on to co-star in the Spiderman pilot.

It wasn't a football themed episode, but there was an episode of Happy Days where they were watching a game between the Packers and Bears on TV. The reference was that George Blanda, a Bears QB in the 50's, was too old at 31 and should retire. The joke was there because Blanda was still playing at age 48 when the episode was filmed.

There is an episode of MASH with the characters listening to the Army-Navy game.

"Football? you bet!" How many of us remember the San Pedro Beach Bums? It was on ABC for barely two months around 1978. It was about 6 friends living on San Pedro Beach. The show got cancelled pretty quick, but the most popular episode was called the Shortest Yard, and guest starred Frank Gifford. In the promo commercial for the episode ABC kept playing a clip of one of the cast, saying "Football? you bet" with a really bad accent.

Oops, right Magnum ran from 1980-88, but I believe Hawaii Five-O had a football theme episode too.

What about the Brady Bunch episode where Peter was on the football team and the glee club and the other guys were teasing him, but come to find out a guest appearance by I think Rosie Greer told them he was on the glee club too.

Murder she wrote had one in a early season. Dick Butkus was the coach.

The Brady Bunch: "Click!" Greg takes a picture that might get the score of the football game reversed.
