I hope the director’s cut ends up being 90% robot and 10% Rocky vs. Drago.

The robot is like a time capsule.

And, it was totally logical, that someone would buy one for fun back then.

But it's been well documented that it was Stallone behind the robot and everybody on set was kinda like "uh, what?" and they cut a bunch of stuff out featuring it.
I love Sly, but he has a very selective memory when it comes to his career.

I honestly don’t know why he’d want to cut the robot out anyway. I thought it was a pretty iconic part of Rocky IV.

As was already mentioned, why do a director's cut of Rocky 1? It's one of the few movies I consider to be a "perfect" movie (along with Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters, and Back to the Future.) Literally any change would be for the worse.

I mean... why re-edit the first one? Rocky 4 has silly bits in it which is why Sly wanted to re-edit it.

III and IV remain my favourites of the Rocky saga.

Looking forward to this director's cut.

Perhaps the best training scene ever is in Rocky IV.

Rocky III. Hulk Hogan on a riser to make him even that much bigger than Rocky.

And Hulk Hogan shrinkage through the years due to injuries (next to Stallone)…

I’m honestly underwhelmed by the trailer. Stallone is my all time favorite actor, but I’m just not feeling this. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a director’s cut that I preferred to its original theatrical version. They’ve got editors for a reason, and there’s also a reason why directors generally get locked out of the editing room when they’re done shooting.

If you guys have never seen some of the deleted scenes from Star Wars (the original), I highly recommend checking them out. Maria Lucas and crew did one of the all time great editing jobs in cinema history. If George had been allowed to cut that thing who knows how things might have turned out.

Anyway, back to Rocky IV. It is a film very much if its time. It has a very distinct, tight feel to it that is going to be destroyed if you go back and include a bunch of deleted scenes.

My 2 cents. Either way, wish Sly all the luck in the world with it. I have no problem if he wants to go back and fix Rocky V. IV, however, was already a masterpiece.
did not know how to react to trailer but well said
