Loved the 70's Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Airplane! was a great remake/combo of Zero Hour! and the High and the Mighty. -
I think Peter Jackson's King Kong worked...however, if I were an Editor...I could trim the running time by about 30 minutes!Leave a comment:

"Bewitched!" but done differently than they did. However, EXACTLY as the original series premiered and entire first season. With Nicole Kidman still playing Samantha. She did an excellent job. But using Jim Carey as straight man Darren. That would be huge hit. I think the way they parodied it in the version that did come out flopped it. I think Carey would have Dick York's part down, hands down. I can see it now with his facial expressions when he'd be turned into a granny or anything else they would throw at him.Leave a comment:

The new movie took a slightly different approach to the story and the ending in particular. As a result it takes nothing away from the classic original, yet ensures itself a place in the classic western genre...not something thats done to often these days!Leave a comment:

Hmmmm....
The only one I really think worked was "Bubblegum Crisis 2040." Most of the time I find remakes to be the current standard story with an old name slapped on it.

I think the majority of movies that are based on TV series are basically garbage. But both the Addams Family & Brady Bunch movies were enjoyable. The Addams Family movies surpassed the original TV series on so many levels and they were perfectly cast.
The Brady Bunch movies are certainly guilty pleasures of mine. I love how both the first movie and the sequel poke fun at the original show. Add to that the fact the Brady's are stuck in the 70s and yet oblivious to the "modern" world around them makes them just fun to watch.Leave a comment:

erm...that's why I added it because it's a remake that worked...you could add "Battle beyond the Stars" too...also Star Wars is a rehash/remake of Hidden Fortress...so that could be added.Leave a comment:
