And of course you get to the ones that had some good sequels that turned bad in later editions, like the Reeve Superman films or the 80s'/90's Batman films. Or Alien. Or Terminator. Or Die Hard...

Planet of the Apes --- A true classic ……….. Never cared for any of the sequels

I wanted to like Godfather-3 but it's just plain boring

Hmmm...I don't know if I ever feel like sequels lowered my enjoyment of the first film. I think I'm able to compartmentalize or something. I guess the closest I can think to that is when I'm overly disappointed in a sequel because I love the first one. Like with Godfather 3, which might not actually be as horrible as I remember it, but it really annoyed me just bcause it didn't live up to the other 2.

Unlike most of my friends at the time I also loved First Blood and didn't care at all for the sequels. I did end up liking the 2008 movie Rambo though. It wasn't as good as First Blood, but it felt more alligned with it.

I also didn't like Rocky 3 through 5, even though most of my age group seems to prefer 3 and 4. I surprisingly enjoyed Rocky Balboa (2006) though. Haven't gotten to the Creed movies yet.

The Mummy (1999)

The first one was perfect, the second one faltered, and the third was a turd. No Rachel Weisz, Chinese Mummies, and Yetis playing football. Yeah. That actually happened.

Not really sure about Hunger Games or Hangover (I think I saw them, but don't really remember). The other three I agree with 100%! But of the three, First Blood probably suffered the most from its sequels since they completely changed the entire premise of the character.

- hunger games ( not knowing everything outside of the game is better than what they portrayed in the sequels )

- matrix (same.. its better left up to our imagination )

- first blood ( rambo is about predator like slow methodical killing as an outlaw. not some commando arnold style shoot em up invincible team america dude )

- jaws ( turned a classic into a joke )

- the hangover ( could have been a cult classic )



not considering movies like Ghostbusters, terminator, back to the future since the sequels don't effect anything regardless of the quality.
