Movies you would rank higher without the sequels

I personally don't think any sequels lessen the ranking of any original. However I do understand the dilemma.
The worst culprits are certainly the Rambo series. Either people have not watched the original in a long time or simply confuse its message with those of the sequels.
The Matrix feels a bit of a pinch to a degree but I think most genre loving folks look past the sequels.
On the opposite end of the "argument" I think Highlander actually benefits from having such a terrible sequel. It is almost common knowledge that Highlander 2 is awful and this leads folks to praise the original (whether they have seen it or not).Leave a comment:

No. Well, it depends on what you mean by proper.
In 2004, a non-anamorphic laserdisc transfer was commercially released on DVD. But they are very poor.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I agree, no sequel or prequel has ever upset me to wreck the original. I just pretend they don't exist.
I put Star Wars in jokingly because yeah, there is nothing really wrong with Empire and Jedi is a decent ending. I personally just love that period of my life where SW was one perfect storm of a movie.
Rambo being the best example, he was a vet suffering from PTSD , not a one man Wrecking Crew. Of course it made alot of money and but creative license be damned.Leave a comment:

Star Wars is, admittedly, a whole other beast. The prequels haven't destroyed the originals in my eyes, but George Lucas has!Leave a comment:
