Did anyone see the Dave Attell version on Comedy Central, a few years ago??? Was allright. -

In order for the Gong Show to remain a must watch for me, is that the judges have to be funny, not necessarily the acts, that's the key. The first week, all three judges were funny. Second week, zero funny.Leave a comment:

Week 1 of Gong Show was by far better than last week. It's about the judges - week 2 judges were awful. Not funny at all.

The second episode aired this week, and I enjoyed it. I can see myself watching it regularly. Before it was the new Battle of the Network Stars, which I thought was awful. There was some eye candy (for both genders to enjoy) and some nostalgia, but the events themselves were hard to watch. If I want to see a fat old guy running, I can just look in the mirror while I'm on the treadmill.Leave a comment:

It had its moments, however I do think a lot of it is going have to do with who the celebrity judges are and how funny they are. Will ken and Zach worked really well together and I feel the show would have not been as funny with some other guests. We will seeLeave a comment:

I kinda remember reading somewhere the original Gong Show was totally a fix --- in the same way as professional wrestling.
Is this new version like that too ?Leave a comment:

It won it's time slot, so success so far...
It was a hit and miss with me. The bad acts should be fun, that's the point of the show, some were lame, lazy, pointless, boring, unfunny. Having said that, the funny acts, good or bad, were really funny. The Banana couple had me in stitches...it was both gross and hilarious, lol. The celebrity judges were actually the best part...they kept me entertained.
The really odd part for me is why in the heck is there a need for Mike Myers to be heavily disguised and donning a character? No need for that, it's just weird and not that funny, just strange. Mike Myers should be himself, that would rule.
I'd give it a 7 out of 10...not a bad start at all...I'll keep watching, have the show set on my DVR.Leave a comment:

You have to remember that the Gong Show was the original Americas Got Talent. I just tune it to watch the host, too see how long he can pull this off.Leave a comment:
