what about roland kovac, now that's really obscure. or how about "division of laura lee" from sweden, a good modern rock band.

    Say!

They just reissued "Suspended Animation" by The Monks. Good stuff, if you're not easily offended. Funny thing; the album went platnum back in the early 80's and nobody around here (except for one guy) remembers it.

    Coincidence....?

I don't know if I'd go as far as saying she is obscure, but then a lot of bands mentioned in this thread really aren't, she did have a few major hits like We'll Sing in the Sunshine and she's the voice of Francesca in Mad Monster Party.

Go through his stuff on youtube, he was an innovative and amazing musician:

I was soooo sad when he died in a car crash near San Francisco.

I absolutely love both of these haunting and beautiful renditions of classic songs from two very talented singers, may both of them rest in peace forever and ever.

Not really obscure, but sort of forgotten, the first two solo Brian Eno albums are amazing... Here come the warm jets and Taking tiger mountain. Great stuff.

Amen brother! His stuff is some of my high rotation faves. Lately, I especially am digging the poppier Lost Patrol stuff. By his musical evolution I am waiting for him to turn into some kind of crazy socialist Scandinavian Donovan.
