In elementary school, I had a lunchbox made of tin that looked like the American flag. The lid was the stars and the lower part the stripes. It was made by Aladdin Industries, Inc. in 1970 in the USA. Since this lunchbox was very stable I still own it. In 4th grade, I had a "Cars 2" lunchbox. After a year it was just a piece of scrap metal because it was bent and pressed everywhere (probably because of the very thin tin it was made of).

I started kindergarten with the exact same Emire lunchbox. My mom took me to see it as a kid. I loved it! I always thought the metal ones superior to the plastic because they could put artwork all over.Leave a comment:

Wow, thanks a lot man, I believe those must be them! Weird that I remember the colours more than the artwork.Leave a comment:

The only ones I can remember having were an orange Roadrunner lunchbox and a blue SMDM one, both plastic because Canada.
EDIT: I tried to find one online and couldn't find an orange Roadrunner one, or anything that looks familiar. Must have been some other cartoon character but I can't remember who, damn that's gonna bug me now!

At my school growing up only the little ones used metal lunchboxes. I'd say kindergarten thru 3rd grade. 4th thru 6th and it was REALLY square to have a lunchbox. It was either brown paper bag or hot lunch....Leave a comment:

Sometimes I used to swap sandwiches with my classmates all the time, it was part of the fun.
If I had a ham & cheese...would trade it for a peanut butter & jelly...and vice versa, lol...
The most frequent and popular lunchbox meal for me, as a kid; bologna sandwich (my favorite), banana, chocolate milk, and a little bag of Fritos...
Ah, those were the days...
