I guess for me it would be Colin Chilvers, he lives in our town. He won a Special Achievement Oscar for the visual effects on Superman The Movie, worked on The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the first X-Men film, and even directed the "Smooth Criminal" segment of Moonwaker. I've never met him but my father has and he's a regular customer at the restaurant where my wife works.

That's ironic that you mentioned the Colts because many of the old Baltimore Colts players live right near me and I was gonna mention them. Tom Matte lives a couple streets away from me and I see him all the time. Johnny Unitas and Art Donovan(RIP) were close family friends who lived right near me and I would see them all the time and they would go to my Grandparents house for dinner (good lord could Art Donovan drink!) got some pictures at my folks Ill post on here on of these days. You should have heard the stories they had!
John Waters lives near me and when im in town (I travel for work alot) I see him a couple times a year. Ive known him for a long time and he is just as weird as you think he is!

Yep - I lived on the border of two school districts, his son Brian went to a "rival" school but we worked together at a local Ponderosa washing dishes. Both are big guys.

I used to work around the corner from Ben Franklin's final resting place, does that count? I'd pass him every day on the way to work and sometimes I'd even leave my spare pennies on his grave.

The singer of a pretty famous Canadian band called "The Tragically Hip" lives fairly close. I live in s small town of 4000 but I've never run into him around town.

Liam Neeson lives in the next town over
Mary Tyler Moore, James Earl Jones, Kevin Bacon and his wife, all live locally. Years ago my brothers room mates carpeted James Earl's computer room
Daryl Hall, Mathew Modine, just to name a few
David Bowie had a place just across the river
Eddie Murphy used to live on a property right behind a friends, of course that ended when he was caught cheating and his wife dumped his ***
Cpt Lou Albano was local(about an hour) for many years until his sad passing. my brother actually carpeted his house in the eighties

you would think with all these celebs near by I would run into at least one of them at some point, but no such luck

How famous? Scott Baio famous or George Clooney famous?

I live a couple miles from OSU, so many OSU athletes live near by.

I live less than 5 miles from Mego Meet organizer/Mego Museum admin Steve Moore.

Famous people who live close to me?

Linda Ronstadt and Kirk Hammett (Metallica). Both of them are about a mile and a half from where I am. I'd never bumped into them at restaurants or stores or anything, but I have driven in their hoity-toity part of town while going to weekend estate sales.

Ugh, my sympathies. That was a very bad time to know the Wahlbergs, especially because of what scumbag Marky Mark did to elderly Asian men, and young African-American schoolkids who were all minding their own business. Basically, being a minority person within striking distance of the Wahlbergs could be dangerous, through no fault of theirs and completely the fault of Wahlberg. He got off with a slap on the wrist.

Once I found out about Marky Mark's sordid past, I have refused to see any of his movies since, especially because even as an adult and a famous movie star, he has refused to own up to what he did, apologize and pay restitution to his victims.

Hell, if I had done something like that as a punk teenager, I sure as hell would try to make amends as an adult. I guess I was raised right by my parents.

Sid Haig I guess. Have seen him around a number of times over the years.

Would've been Richard Kiel till he died. Met him at an orthopedists office when I was a kid. He was there for his joints, I was there because of a field hockey injury.

Britney Spears was around these parts for awhile when she was married to Kevin Federline. He was a local boy.

A lot of famous people have come from here, but most don't stick around.
