My wife and I met while working at B Dalton Bookstore. I was shift Supervisor and she was hired by the Store Manager to manage the Children's book section for a part time job (at the time she taught ballet to young girls). Our first date was to go see the premiere of "Star Trek: Generations", which, by the way, was her choice. She can quote Tolkien from memory, likes James Bond and Pink Panther films, thinks the fact that I perform at Reniassance Faires is cool, and her favorite film is "The Princess Bride". Of course I married her.

Our 12th Anniversary was on January 6th.

    nice thread.

I met my girlfriend at work, two and a half years ago. I was smitten the moment I saw her, but had to wait a few months for her to get out of another relationship.

She moved in with me about six months ago.

Geometry class in 10th grade. I knew of her, my best friend had a crush on her the year before, but she started talking to me because I was then dating one of her old friends. Turns out the friend did to her what she would soon do to me; just totally dump us out of her lives. Best thing that ever happened to either of us (or at least me). I started making smart-alec comments to her and we began flirting despite her having a boyfriend. We became buds and began to hang out. I was a bit nervous when she came over to my house for the first time. She'd see my comics, and worse, my toys!!! She plopped down on the corner of my bed and started reading a comic. I knew then I would marry her. We began officially dating that summer. We've been together 17 years, and married for 12.

During a concert, she was still seeing someone else then, but that didn't last long after we met

Actually, I have known my wife since we were in grade school.

Whenever I tell the story, I feel like I should be sitting on the couch in "When Harry met Sally". She was a grade older than me and lived on the other side of town. We went to the same church and we constantly were running into each other but didn't really know her very well. In 5th grade, the schools in our area were experimenting with combination classes so they took about 5 5th graders and shoved them into a 6th grade class to see how they would do. I was one of the 5 5th graders and she happened to be in 6th. I had one of those grade school crushes but just kept it to myself.

We ended up going to the same Jr. High and High School and again, always had a bit of a crush on her but didn't really know her that well since she was a grade ahead of me.

Finally, we ended up working at the same catering company as teenagers. That's when I became completely smitten with her but she seemed disinterested so I never got the nerve up to ask her out but we became really good friends.

At the age of 19, I finally got up the nerve and invited her to a fraternity formal at my college....she said "yes". We have been together ever since. I once asked her why she didn't seem to reciprocate the early signs that I was interested in her and she said that she knew I was the one for her and it scared her since she had never dated anyone seriously. She said she had a feeling that we would marry some day but for whatever reason, everything had to come into alignment for it to happen....so it is one of those marrying the girl next door stories.

My wife and I worked in the same hospital. I worked in IT and she worked in registration.

We had a new IT project for registration, that went horribly awry. As a result my Boss had me sit in registration and babysit the printers that were malfunctioning.

So I had time to flirt and talk to the lady over the dept.... Needless to say 8 months later we were married, and in 2 weeks we celebrate our 10th anniversary.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!!!!
May you enjoy MANY, MANY more years together!!!!

18 years ago I was working at Hampstead station that still had the old type lifts that had to be operated by a member of staff from the inside. She was the only passenger for that lifts trip which takes about a minute and a half to reach the top landing...I said hello and joked about the lift getting stuck. She worked in the stationers round the corner and I used to go in there for my drawing and art supplies and we got chatting ...3 weeks later we had a drink for someone who was leaving and after getting absolutely drunk went into the shop...slumped to the fllor and when she came over asked her out..she told me later she only agrred so I would leave the shop..lol.
We now have 3 kids Nyssa 16, Jake 13 and Lucas 7 and when they demolished the old lifts at Hampstead station I managed to get the ornate iron grill from the top of the lift where we first met.....we did use it as a headboard for the bed until one night it fell on my forehead.....lol
