"Learn to read"????Learn to read Hue, All I was talking about was Robert Conrad. No where did I mention your name. Trust me, I don't give you any thought contrary to what you might think. NOW ARE YOU GETTING IT?!
BTW, you're not a moderator here, please let THEM do their job and I'm certain THEY will when THEY see fit.
1) Regarding the "Conrad" stuff. You didn't mention my name. Ha-ha. Very funny. Not too clever. But funny.
I'd appreciate if you didn't play word semantics with me here. We're adults here.
Give me a freakin' break, and be accountable for your sentiments.
2) Regarding the "moderator" stuff. Fine. Look at what I'm saying as more of a "suggestion for fair play at the Museum". I know I have no final say in ANYTHING here.
Also, I'd appreciate it that if I decide to take this "political" because others here have done that (whether anybody agrees or not)... well, I'd appreciate the benefit of the doubt of a warning and me not being kicked out of the museum for breaking a "no politics" rule... a rule that it's obvious to a non-biased person that Mark has already broke and that you are all accessories to by supporting that his comments were "just fine" when I can point out how it was definitively not "just fine" as far as being "no politics".
Was it fine as far as "subject matter than I thoroughly enjoy discussing"??? Yes.
But that was never the point.
All respect.Leave a comment:

I just sent Mr. Marion a PM ----and I thought I'd write a new post----using some sentiments I expressed in there... that'd maybe give some insight on my stance---- my thoughts on the OJ doc too----and all without ACTUALLY stating a political stance----it's a fine line.
1) Frankly, I'm not as "hot" (worked up) as my posts might lead you to believe.
2) My issues with your (Mr. Marion's) post (and all related posts in that thread) is that from the beginning people were playing with words in that thread regarding what I see as (possibly unknowingly) "race-card playing", and I tried pointing that out, first by requesting the thread be shut down (not because I wanted it shut down, but because I didn't want to break forum rules (rules that I would say were already unequivocally broken already by Mego Mark).
3) Then, when that didn't happen I've been trying to continue on without overtly ruining the thread, but all anyone said to me was that I was mistaken on that political lines were being crossed----such baloney whether they/you recognize it or not AFAIC----
4) Then, additionally, I have you (Mr. Marion) and others implying that "I don't care about Megos" because I'm saying what I'm saying in the thread...
5) It's hilarious really.
You guys are pulling the "Mego card" using "collecting Megos" as a strawman for your argument against my pointing out that political lines are being broken.
What's next----you guys calling me a "Megoist"????? (ha-ha)
This thread has become an odd copy of a Seinfeld episode with a similar satirical bent to Seinfeld through the happenstance of the "no politics" rule attempted to be stuck to, while posters are simultaneously still attempting to address criticisms of each others' posts.
So now we have the "Megoist" emerge.
A Megoist: As in "A person who would bring personal politics into a thread above avoiding doing such a thing because the 'love for collecting Megos' should trump politics."
(By the way, that's the only reason, ironically, that I suggested shutting down this thread originally---I'm the opposite of a Megoist---You're the Megoist---Why? Because I claim you're discussing politics----you say I should "lighten up"... implying I should shut-up.... saying I should "get a life".... etc)
The Megoist emerges Seinfeld style.

6) Really, it's no big deal---it just stinks that this is a favorite topic of mine (OJ/race-relations) but the very thing that makes this topic interesting (the "thing" being: a total disparity between how people characterize such things)---that thing is what is making the thread in question go off the rails.
7) I have a "pride" issue when I'm told to "get a life" publicly (or am insulted otherwise)... So, instead of just keeping the peace in spite of what I saw as political discussion in a place where it's not allowed, my pride has me feel the need to respond.
8) But that's just (in the tone my Museum sig suggests) "politics"---and anything I have against you (Mr. Marion or Mego Mark or Marvelmania, etc) stays in that thread----overall, I don't have a problem with you---or anybody really.
9) Apologies, if this was blown more out of proportion than that. Or if I insulted you in any other way.
Now, after all that stuff I sent to Mr. Marion... I still can address the "politics" of this deeper... if any of you are curious... and, yes, I don't think you'll like what you hear---because I look at racial issues differently than most do---- but I think it'd be crazy---and, frankly, against the rules to say what I mean publicly here----so, it'd have to be in a PM, if anywhere.
Bless you guys.
And bless OJ Simpson for inspiring such an interesting scenario in this craaaaazy America

Man, you REALLY don't get it. I'm not trying to control anything here. I'm not asking for this thread to be shut down. I LOVE this topic.
You're just not GETTING that this is going to lead to direct discussion of race politics here.
I've been holding back.
BIG time.
Yes... keep piling on the personal attacks even though I'm guilty of one thing: From the start, trying to avoid political discussion here in this thread. And this is what I get. Beautiful.Last edited by huedell; Jul 2, '16, 10:22 AM.Leave a comment:

^^^^ I dare you
I always liked Robert Conrad in Ba Ba Blacksheep but he seemed like a dick in real life. Even in the Battle of the Network Stars he seemed to feel the need to have total control over everything.

I originally used a g-rated epithet here that I will now censor "***** *** Mr. Marion." and I have discussed/am discussing this with Mr. Marion in a PM (as respectfully as possible). You have made very sensible comments which are very consistent with the outcome of the trial and the tone of that period. Anyone criticizing your previous post needs to lighten up or get a life.
I love megos too that's why I'm here , I've spent thousands of dollars on them over the years and thank you to the many others on here that don't think I am crazy for that because they have done it too.
I really enjoyed the documentary especially part 5 since I didn't follow the post-trial OJ news at the time.
(Otherwise, this post is as it originally appeared)
I just watched the thing... and stand behind what I said even MORE than I did before.
Don't make me explain why.... you won't like what you hear.Leave a comment:

Saw my public library ordered the DVD today so I requested a hold on their website.
I listened to the OJ director speak with Marc Maron on a podcast episode split with cartoonist Dan Clowes. For those interested in the conversation about the OJ Doc you can find at ***pod.comLeave a comment:

You have made very sensible comments which are very consistent with the outcome of the trial and the tone of that period. Anyone criticizing your previous post needs to lighten up or get a life.1st thing I would like to say is I love Mego dolls, ( that's what I call them, lol) and is why I joined this great website.
Secondly, thanks to all members who have defended me for my seemingly honest comments on a pretty good documentary.
Let's get one thing straight. Not once have I justified any crime or act that has been covered in the documentary. What i have done is witnessed a great recap of black history and the culmination of wrongs on one side being righted by letting OJ walk.
Not that I agree with it, I can just see it, if that makes any sense.
Lastly, I love Megos !

Gosh there are so many small details about this case that I just never picked up on or never even knew happened.
For example O.J. not taking his arthritis medication for two weeks before he was asked to try on the gloves. He figured it would puff up his hands and he wouldn't be able to flex his fingers.
Watching this doc it's just more clear how royally the prosecution screwed the pooch.Leave a comment:
