And careful, the two year agreement of $159 is for one year only...them it automatically goes up to $185 a month for the second year...very shady practice from Comcast, downright greedy arse company...
Your $159 a month seems like the two year agreement plan. I was offered that $159 myself, but only with a two year agreement, I didn't want that.
I'm not under any agreement...I have a non contract locked $169 a month special for one year.
The main X1 (my backyard cottage), additional living room unit, additional bedroom unit, and the cheapie $2.99 unit.
Modem is $10...Voice is $1.50
French channel is $13.55, but got a one year special for only $5
Tax is $20
We can cancel at any time
Sounds about right...around your estimate ballpark
We will eventually cut the chord...we will armed ourselves with all the hardware goodies progressively...we are waiting for the day Sonic Gigabit internet arrives in our area (Sonic says that day is coming sooner than later)...gigabit internet is supposed to blow cable internet outta the water, much faster. Once it does, bye bye cable, ha...
That's why we were willing to pay $169 for Triple Premier with no contract instead of $159 with contract...that we are are under no obligation with Comcast whatsoever...we can cancel anytime.
Please Sonic, hurry up already, lol...
Thanks, buddy...for the breakdown...much appreciated you taking the time. X1 is actually very cool, but Comcast is a big bully, don't like their business practices, time to fight back...
Hector, that $208 seems a bit high for what you're getting. I get the Premier Triple Play as well, and here's my breakdown, in case it helps you negotiate a better rate:
HD Premier Xf Bundle - $219.95 ($59.96 service discount) = $159.99/month
Additional Xfinity TV Services - $9.95 additional outlet (living room) $2.99 additional outlet (basement) = $12.94
Modem Rental - $10.00
Taxes and Fees - $15.76
Total: $198.81
Now, I know I'm not getting some of the channels you're getting (I get the sports package, but not the French channel), but I've added HBO/Showtime/Cinemax/etc..
Yeah, it's still way more than I really should pay for entertainment services, but we don't go out to movies and we've got a tween daughter who's hooked on a few channels/shows, so we're not ready to cut the cord in our house.
Look at that top number of $159.99/month for Triple Play and see if that's what you're getting. If not, that price is definitely available as I just locked into it about a month ago.
I found out that Sonic will offer gigabit internet in my neighborhood soon. It's way faster than cable internet. If you are not familiar with it, check out their link, and watch the video...
Get fiber-optic internet service with speeds up to 10 Gigabits. Fast, fair, and affordable.
But in the meantime, we solved our issues with Comcast. We were finally able to terminate the two year agreement (in writing), now it's a one year no contract locked set amount...we went from $300 a month, down to $269, and finally down to $208, after tons of calls, and threats of living them for good. This is for the top package, Triple Premier, Sports Package, one French paid channel, Blast internet, and landline Voice. Main X1 boxes, 2 smaller additional X1s, and one regular TV adapter that sends signal to our mother's room...no fancy channels, but she still gets her Spanish TV, lol.
So for now, we are content, got what we wanted...the X1 is really nice.
However, as soon as Sonic gigabit is available in our area...we are dumping Comcast...get three or four Roku 4s, Leaf HD antennas for every TV...and we will be set...finally be able to cut the dreaded cable chord, lol.
its fast enough that we can both watch something different at the same time with no problems. Not sure what its supposed to be. The throttled back one time with Netflix, but I guess they got over losing customers in the tv part.
