First were the Beatles hand me downs from my sister. Throw in a little Archies too at the same time. Then I moved on the KISS bandwagon and soon smartened up and started listening to Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Someone mentioned Aerosmith, Their first one was one of the first LP's I actually saved up for and went out and bought. Mama Kin rocks! High School it was all Neil Peart and RUSH.
I especially remember this Archies cover because I had a set of those plastic things on the cover. Anyone know what they were called?
I don't really get KISS.
I never saw the Mego toys until I came here.
I think the first I heard of them was on Quantum Leap.
I don't even really like there music.
There make-up was good though.
SORRY
I'm kind of the same way.
Being in highschool in the late 70's, the in thing was always Kiss Sucks.
Darn near everyone hated Kiss back in the day as much as Disco.
Mostly just younger kids liked them at the time.

KISS was everywhere when I was a kid. Still love them today, although it is obvious to me now that they weren't very talented. They knew how to put on a show though!!!!
it's funny cause I use to love Kiss when I was a little kid, just because of the toys I use to see and a couple of videos, but my Step dad would tell us NO WAY IN HELL! that music is Satanic and my mom would be like yeah it's true, listen to your dad.
But when my mom got divorced we were going thru an old case of records and GUESS WHAT I FOUND? IN BETWEEN HER HUGE ELVIS COLLECTION...3 KISS RECORDS,I was like mom...what the hell?? she just started cracking up and let me have them,I've been a huge fan ever since
Your story of your mom "hiding " the ol' KISS brings to mind THIS
Cheap Trick lyric...
When I woke up, Mom and Dad are rolling on the couch.
Rolling numbers, rock and rollin, got my Kiss records out.
Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, aaaaaaaay.
