I get the concept, but it often gets lost in print.

I'm an art teacher who loves sports, sci fi, wrestling, my daughter, my dogs, hooters wings, Stella Artois and 2 ply toilet paper(mostly because of hooters wings). I would never just dismiss something I don't like (like rap music) by listing all of the worst examples of the culture. I don't like rap and I probably never will, but that doesn't discount it as an art form or a totally okay interest.
Ummm...you do understand the concept of sarcasm and/or making a joke right?

Why, I even hear women folk play sports too! Can ya believe it?

It's borderline unbelievable, probably closer to odd, but...

I thoroughly like public speaking and delivering presentations

I can say anything to anyone with a straight face and make it totally convincing

See? It's not as exciting as saying I eat aluminum cans, but it's about the only thing I have going for me out of the ordinary.

Sports: Overpaid neanderthals engaging in testosterone driven competition to prove who's more manly, in between bouts of drug abuse, dog fighting, murder, domestic violence, and other assorted felonies.

Well, I don't watch sports either, and I don't care about Super Bowl parties. I can eat my own food and watch the TV shows I like.

No...never watched one of those either.

    No, just, no.

Me neither. I don't watch any sports. I live near Cleveland and I couldn't even tell you the name of a single player on any of the sports teams except for Lebron James because they plaster his stupid face on EVERYTHING here.

Honestly, some of these revelations are depressing. I challenge you to cross one of these off the list if it's something you haven't done yet!
Oh I have been invited, that's usually when the "controversy" erupts, I just don't see the point if I'm not at all interested in the main reason. I'm not the type to sit and pretend that I'm interested, so I'd rather save the good times.
