Of course, he/she is! lol
I'm looking at an acoustic guitar of mine, right now. There will probably be an episode soon saying that guitars along with all other musical instruments came from "ancient aliens."

They had a good one on earlier tonight. They think Bigfoot is also an alien.Leave a comment:

I think what a lot of folks forget is that in ancient times, people had the time and patience to work a project to completion, even if that project took your entire lifetime. There were no distractions for jobs, gossip, texting, tv, or facebook to whittle away your time. You worked a thing, ate, slept. Repeat. Today we expect things to be done immediatly, and cannot fathom a thing taking years to be done by hand.
Also there was pride in craftmanship as well, objects were meant to last not be disposable.
It's truly amazing some of the things accomplished by man without the use of modern building technology. Aside from the ancient wonders, look at things like the Erie Canal, dug by hand mostly, the Hoover Dam, the Empire State Building...
Imagine collecting a few thousand unemployed workers today to build something like that. Never happen.Leave a comment:

NatGeo once had something similar on once. You had these nuts trying to convince people that all of the ancient structures around the world were built by aliens to help them navigate around the world. The scientist they had on to refute their claims was funny. He said these aliens figured out a way to travel millions of light years to get from their planet to ours and that was the best they could come up with for a GPS?
I think it may have been "The Real Roswell" on the National Geographic channel (though, I could be wrong). "The Real ..." was a good series that I think must be long gone, as far as new episodes go. Fortunately, they rerun them from time to time.
They also did a special on the moon landing a few years back. It dealt with people who believe that we never landed on the moon and the people from NASA and other experts that negate that belief. The great thing is that they approached it by examining each point, that those who don't believe we landed on the moon hold to say "that's why it couldn't have happened," and then the experts give a detailed explanation as to why it was/or happened that way.

That's really funny! And, that's spot on in regard to the series.
This morning on H2 they aired an episode of UFO Files from 2005 called The Day After Roswell. It went into the claims of a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel, at the time, who claimed that technology such as lasers, integrated circuits and fiber optics were found at the crash site and reverse engineered and because of that, these technologies are used by humans today. However, the scientist who developed these technologies, as well as historians, refuted these claims. Infact, lasers and fiber optics took years to develop into what we know them to be today.
Now, that was a good episode. I hadn't expected it to be as objective as it was. If the series Ancient Aliens was presented like this episode of UFO Files was, it would be much improved.

This thread influenced me to watch some of the shows last night. The big that really got on my nerves was that all of these "theorists" base their thoughts on the idea that ancient man had no imagination. The announcers line was the same over and over again; "Their _______ read like science fiction." Well maybe it is their science fiction. Dumb asses.Leave a comment:

Slightly off topic but did anyone catch the special on Syfy Sunday about the aliens on the moon?Leave a comment:

The first season was fun, while I don't believe the theory -- I liked listening to these guys sell it. but after that season they were really stretching it to keep the series going. I stopped watching. And btw, I like the dude with the crazy hair.

That would be interesting. Think about how long we had the wheel before someone decided to connect a couple of them with an axle. It took longer than what we would assume. A lot of things have to come together, too--not having domesticated draft animals in the New World caused it to not really take off in North America until the Spaniards arrived, while that wasn't an obstacle in the rest of the world.I can see where people buy into the "theory" but I think a show that would be far more interesting would be something that really digs into the times and moments when things really "popped" such as the Industrial Revolution and how once the ball started rolling it went totally nuts for a while and then slowed down for a bit. Studying the catalysts of change if you will.Leave a comment:

Another thing shows like this (and the people who buy into all of this) is that we have the luxury of fast forwarding through years, decades, centuries, etc in our observations. A year took a year then just like it does now however the minutia of then is completed faded and the key moments are the only things that shine through. The pyramids are the end results of god only knows how many decades of day in and day out work. Countless lives and families that came and gone during it's construction.
To make it even more modern day relevant; I'm 40 and to me the Interstate system has always existed. I didn't watch it come together. How could it be possible that people EVER traversed the country from sea to shining sea without these smooth, clear cut and marked roads? It must have been an alien guide that walked the Native Americans around by hand for all of those centuries prior to Eisenhower's desire to mimic the ... Germans?!? Not the Martians? Wait. What?
Or I'm wrong.Leave a comment:
