And the best hot dogs are?

Over the summer I've been on a quest to find the perfect hot dog, trying every store bought and deli variety I could find. Some had natural casings that were too tough to bite...many had odd aftertastes, were too salty, or too greasy, or too rubbery.
I tried Ball Park, Bar "S", Boar's Head, Gwaltney, Hebrew National, Hormel, Nathan's, Oscar Mayer, and about a dozen more deli and store brands.
I found I like Kahn's beef ones the best. Perfect combination of taste and texture, not to salty, greasy or gristly. Just a perfect "classic" hot dog.Leave a comment:

I rarely eat just plain hot dogs. If I eat anything like that, its usually Earl Campbell's hot links. As far as mustard goes, any mustard is good mustard. I have eaten my share of mustard sandwiches in my day...Leave a comment:

I love all kinds of mustard...like Sharry, Honey mustard is great.
I also love regular American mustard, Dijon mustard, and that hot Chinese mustard...all great and delicious to me.Leave a comment:

New Yorkers will know this one. Hofmann makes the best hot dogs and Publix is carrying them.

In my neck of the woods (well, in nearby western NY that is), it begins and ends with Sahlen's hot dogs.Leave a comment:

Hmmm...many more delicious sounding brands for me to hunt down.
Now about the mustard...for me it's either gotta be Plochman's Yellow or Gulden's Spicy. YUM!Leave a comment:
