Here's a Neal Adams cover for Deadly Hands of Kung Fu with the great Jim Kelly. I love this cover!

I don't own many movies, but my wife bought me 'Black Belt Jones' and 'Three The Hard Way.' a few years back. For me, he was a true 70's icon!

Wow, that's sad. He was at one of the toy shows I went to either last year or the year before. I passed his table, but didn't stop to talk. (I'm not a fan, but have a vague recognition of him). RIP Jim.

Really wish he'd done more, but he was probably happier this way based on Brian's observations. He was very much responsible for inspiring my original character Brohawk. He's half Jim Kelly, half Luke Cage and all badass. RIP Mr. Kelly.

Jim Kelly the QB means nothing to me...this is the Jim Kelly I really dug, not the greatest of actors, but he was so memorable in Enter the Dragon, a very likable character.

Shocking that such a great martial artist of this caliber, has died this soon, he should've lived well into his 90s.

    ***UPDATE***

Jim Kelly, the quarterback, has been diagnosed with Squamous-cell carcinoma, a cancer of the upper jaw.

That's awful too...I take back what I said about him meaning nothing to me, I support every cancer-stricken person, I hope he beats that thing...and lives to be at least 100 years old.

Really a bummer. He was one of the people who got me into Martial Arts, a hero of mine.

Met him two years back, I was surprised at how gentle a soul he was. He was really lovely, soft spoken and very kind. He could have been more famous but I get the feeling fame scared him a little and he pulled back.
