I completely agree with you on Steven Smith. Definitely THE most annoying guy on radio. As for the guys on the FAN...as much as Beningo is a Mets fan...he and Evan Roberts would be the first to beat the crap out of any of the teams they root for...that's one thing Francessa will NEVER do. To Francessa, if you are not a Yankees Fan, Giants Fan, or Knicks Fan you basically have NO opinion on sports. The most condescending sports talk guy on the radio. Boomer is a "homer" and Carton is just annoying. Carton is the perfect example of how you need to know almost nothing about what you talk about on the radio and still be on the radio. He's "comedy" relief...and I use comedy lightly. He's not even funny.
I respect guys like Jeter and Mariano...and they will definitely be 1st ballot HOFamers. Yankees have got to do a better job in their farm system. They basically have no replacement for Jeter and IMHO ARod is done as a Yankee. Even if he does return from his injury. Also need to start getting some pitching into their system. Might be the end of a 20 year run for the Yanks after this year.Leave a comment:

I'm just defending Mariano. The guy is a class act and if he and or jeter don't get a unanimous vote into the Hall, the system is flawed. I don't think the Yankees fans take the subway series as serious as the Mets do. To the Mets it's kind of everything though because there really isn't a whole lot to look forward to. When it first started, it seemed like every game was a must watch but the two three game series a year really took the shine off what was once really cool. I like the idea of 2 Yankee Stadium, two Citifield games a year and that's it for the year. Maybe that will bring a much needed spark back to the games.
I was at the game last night and couldn't believe it wasn't a sell-out (which I think is a combination of the Mets being bad and the Yankees having all but two of their every day starters on the DL) I looked around the field last night and outside of Gardener and Cano, there was't a single every day player in the line up. Ichiro was out there too but he's supposed to be a platoon player and Wells wasn't even supposed to be here this year until all the injuries so the "juice" of the series didn't seem to be there. I also thought the crowd was 2/3 Yankee fans. Tonight was the first time the Yankees lost three games in a row all year. Girardi is doing a fine job right now and if the Yankees make the play-offs with this team, he'll be the manager of the year. I'm one of the biggest Yankee fans out there and I don't know half the guys on the team right now. Granderson, Jeter,Texeria, A-Rod, Cervelli, Youk, Pettite, Pineda, Nunez, and at one point Nova, Hughes and Joba......thats the whole team on DL all at once!
You know it's funny, outside of Francessa, I look at WFAN as a bunch of Met guys talking about the Mets Baseball all the time. Carton, Beningo, Recco, Ackerman, Somers, and Minko all talk about the Mets constantly. I mean they occasionally bring up the Yankees because they can't ignore them but mostly it's all Mets all the time. I really don't listen to them much because I'm usually on 1050 with the Michael Kay show and yes I know he's a Yankee guy but at least he doesn't openly root for the team and La Greca brings some balance. I also like the national guys like Cowherd. Anyone over there is pretty good with the exception of Stephen A Smith(I'd rather listen to static) and the terrible Mike & Mike (I'd rather listen to Smith).Last edited by spacecaps; May 28, '13, 11:45 PM.Leave a comment:

Relax...Yankee fans would be sticking it to the Met Fans right now if it was the other way around. It's a fact and you know it. It's just a little ribbing. I've had enough of hearing the Yankee Fans and Francessa today on WFAN. If I was going to hear Francessa say for the 100th time how tonight was not a sell out at Citi...I think I would have lost my F'n mind. That's another reason why I put GREAT in quotes. Cause that's all you hear out of Francessa's mouth. He should be on the Yankee network (880) and NOT WFAN. Unfortunately WFAN listeners are going to have to take his crap for another 4 years. Yankees lost...what could be really embarrassing for the Yankees is if they should, GOD forbid, loose the season series to the LOWLY Mets. You'll hear idiots like Frankie from Massapequa lose their minds if that happens. They'll be calling for Girardi's head. LET'S GO METS!Leave a comment:

The appropriate Sterling quote there would be, "We'll that's baseball Susan." I can't for the life of me understand why great is in quotes? Isn't implying that Rivera isn't great is kind of silly? The guy goes 18 for 18 in saves and gives up his first one tonight and he's not so great anymore? I'm not seeing that. He's having one of his best years ever in an already stellar career and he gives up a bloop double and a base hit which isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball. I'm not even sure the Mets have ever had a player in Rivera's class or at least one they didn't stupidly trade away at some point. The official slogan for the Mets this year should be, "Hey, at least we have the All-Star Game." because while they're running out their every day team and competing to stay out of last place, the Yankees are sending out guys that no one has ever heard of and fighting for first. Amazing indeed.Last edited by spacecaps; May 28, '13, 11:05 PM.Leave a comment:

The "Great" Mariano Rivera not so great anymore...Mets win....THEEEEEEEEEE METS WIN!!! (In my best Sterling impersonation) Two down and two to go against the Yankees. BTW, Harvey is the best pitcher in the National League right now. He may be ONLY 5 - 0....but he should be at least 8 - 0. He keeps this up for another month and he will be the starting pitcher in the All Star Game which, oh BTW, is at Citi Field this year. LET'S GO METS!!!Leave a comment:

Jerry, Keith, and Mets have something to cheer about...
Finally have something to be happy about this NY Mets Baseball season...I think Jerry and Keith say it best. Here's a snapshot I took from the game I recorded tonight. It's good to see fellow Mets fans having fun:
