I picked up four more Batmobiles at Wal-Mart today. If anyone's still in need of them, I'm letting them go for cost plus postage.

I have combed numerous Walmart stores in our area and surrounding states and never found one on my own. Through the generosity of some online friends of mine from different forums, I was able to score 2 for myself and 3 additional Batmobiles for some other pals of mine. I am not a Hot Wheels collector either, but am a big Batman fan and those Batmobiles are just too sweet!!!!Leave a comment:

To separate the body from the base, just use a very small drill bit, 1/16 (not sure what size that is in metric) or so. Drill in the center of the rivet and the body just falls off. I use JB WELD to hold the body back on, some customizers go as far as get replacement rivets and rivet gun to re-attach.Leave a comment:

Like this? This is a good custom....

What is the trick to splitting the body from the chassis, and what do you use to fix them back together again?
Or those needing more than one Batmobile

CUSTOMIZE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I picked up 4 in Toys R Us today. The first i`ve seen in the UK. One for me to open, one to keep along with all my other Batmobiles, one for my son, and the other? Not sure yet but sticking it on Ebay seems wrong - it`s hardly going to make me rich and scalpers get my thumbs down so it`s not right doing it myself.

I have been pretty lucky. I look every time I go to the shops so now all my neices and nephews have one, and we play with them.
Recently I was at KMart and I overheard this kid, about 3 with his Dad. His Dad had to keep saying no, that's too much, and the kid couldn't decide. I had a Batmobile in my hands, and turned to the kid and said I bet you would love this one. OH YES he says. I winked to the Dad and said consider yourself lucky these are hard to find and he said he hadn't seen one like that since he was a kid. Anyway, I turned back to searching and picked up three more...they must have just unpacked 'em...felt like good karma.Leave a comment:

I'd rather pay $5 for a $1 Batmobile than wait a couple more months. And going to the store yourself costs money as well, so in the end you end up paying $5 anyway

If it was some thing that was rare, yes, I would understand. But when I say waste of money, I am not just talking about my money, I am talking about he money of people who want one. We are talking about a .99 cent toy here made in the 100's of 1000's. Don't spend $5 or more for a $1 toy that will be in abundance soon enough.A waste of money for who? Shane sent me a batmobile because he had an extra and threw it up for grabs. He never asked that I reimburse him or anything and members have sent me items over the years and have never asked for anything in return. I did send Shane $5 to cover the shipping, the car, and gas money but he never asked for it. I have also sent items to people here and asked for nothing in return...not even reimbursement for the item. You'd be surprised at how many people that are still missing the car would gladly reimburse you for the car, postage, etc. and would reciprocate when you are looking for something.
It like the first of each month when the new treasure hunt comes out. People go crazy for them, buy them off ebay for $100 +, but by the next month when the new one is released, you can pick up the last one for less than $20.
I am not trying to sound mean by saying I don't want to waste my money or your money, I am just trying to make common sense by saying save your money, they are coming.
Mattel is famous for this. Last Christmas, Disney Cars (made by Mattel) had released a Lightning McQueen variant in only one case (less than one per case), called Cruisin McQueen. People went crazy for these things, paying nearly $150 apiece for them on Ebay because the rumor was that case was the only case that would have that car. Well, last month, they released it again, in abundance. I nearly fell for it myself, asking to trade a high end super hunt for one. Luckily someone pm'd me and said they were gonna be released again in a month. This guy saved me from a bad trade, and I am kind of doing the same thing by telling you to hold on, they are coming. Mattel paid too much money for this casting to make it rare.
BTW, I have sent a few members here some stuff just for kicks, its called a RAOK (Random Act Of Kindness), and one of these ROAK's was a HW batmobile to a member, he said it floored him. He had spent $15 on the other one he had. I didnt know this when I sent it.Last edited by theantiquetiger; May 31, '07, 5:06 PM.Leave a comment:

Mailing a $1 toy for $3 (plus gas and box) is a waste of money. I did send a member here one, it was a surprise in a box of other stuff I sent him. Save your money until Mattel releases the larger scale BM's, they are gonna range from $25 to $300 each. I just ope they make it into a treasure hunt next year and put nice wheels on it and fix it up alittle. HW makes a 1/64 Batman, they could include him in the car.
I have said it many times, they are gonna be peg warmers by the end of the year.Leave a comment:
