About 3pm come on down. Deep fried is great. I notice with the popularity of it, they have jacked of the prices on even the cheap friers. I my whole setup for 30 bucks now they want about 80 for the same rig. But they also make good boiler/steamer pots too.Leave a comment:

I always wanted to try a deep fried turkey, it'll be about a 19 hour drive, what time are we eating?

I'll be doing a brined deep fried Turkey, Smoked ham, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, stuffing with Jimmy Deans sage sausage, loaded green bean casserole and homemade cheese cake(that's my mom, they weigh like 20 lbs lol).Leave a comment:

The standard fare...mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, garden salad, sweet corn, buttered garlic bread, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, bubbly apple cider, red wine, beer, stuff like that.
But this year will only be my mother, my sister and yours truly...so I'll be not be cooking a whole turkey this year...I'm going to Whole Foods and get a free range stand alone turkey breast...that should be enough for three people...and a bit of next day leftovers, lol.
We always get the turkey breast, easy to cook, less mess and who eats the drum sticks anyways
Did you see Whole Foods is doing the whole dinner package again?Leave a comment:

Well, I'm flying solo this year again, but I'm still cooking for ME! I'm making turkey cutlets (fried up like chicken
) , stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, crescent rolls, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, egg nog and sparkling apple cider. Leftovers for DAYS! YUM!!

For Oakland folks, I highly recommend you support African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) through buying pies from Uhuru...
I do it every Thanksgiving and Christmas...the pies are delicious, made from the best local bakers...I like them even better than the pies from Whole Foods...yum.Leave a comment:

What will share table space with your turkey this year? We always have a baked stuffing with sauage cheese and potatoes mixed in it. Homemade noodles boiled in chicken broth, sweet corn from the freezer ,chucky mashed potatoes, and baked cinnamon apples. Those little roll out cresant rolls are always a tasty treat too.Tags: None
