>I bet they're killers for people on dial-up too.
Not only am I on dial up, but my computer is almost 15 years old (parts of it, anyhoo*) and they weren't a problem. After a few pages they get cache'd.
*FUN FACT: Windows XP freaks out when it detects a 15 year old SCSI port. Who knew?

Very thoughtful of you to ask. Many people would not bother to do that.

Cool guys, thanx for the kind words. But honestly if I would've known I would've never put them.I didn't know it would slow some peoples computer or scare kidsLeave a comment:

Nice of you ask Toys but seriously don't think it really matters. Some things will always be offensive to somebody else. There's no getting around that, it's just a part of life. I do get tired of the "what if my child sees it" attitude though.
As long as nobody puts up one of those "Hang on in there Kitty" posters...we're cool!Leave a comment:

Toys, it was nice of you to consider everyone else's eyes with your animated sigs. I've gotten used to your Ultimate Warrior one, so even though I don't care for him, I barely see it anymore. It was pretty jarring when the other ones showed up, and there were scary monsters looking at me from the bottom of your posts!
The only one that bothered me was the overweight kid, but having 2 or 3 of them was a bit much visually.Leave a comment:

Damien, thanks for limiting your animated sigsLeave a comment:

I've seen other sites where you don't have to see the animated smileys. There must be an option here that I could use so they don't slow me down.Leave a comment:

I'm glad you took them off, they were pretty creepy. I wasn't gonna say anything though. To each his own and all that.Leave a comment:

If it were up to me, signatures would be limited to one picture and/or three lines of text. It's supposed to be a signature, not a MySpace page.Leave a comment:

wow I wake up and find another 3 pages on this subjectSorry guys I didn't realized it bothered you guys so much. There's no need to have it removed from the forum cause of me,it would'nt be fair to the others.I'll just leave my Warrior one if that's ok.
But if there's a problem just let me knowLeave a comment:

I block the signatures but the animated smileys really kill my dial-up at home. I'm goofing off at work now and even here all these animated smileys really cause problems loading pages.
I think I might go nuts and start shooting at anything that looks like smileys.Last edited by johnmiic; Jan 25, '08, 4:34 PM.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I would agree that turning off sigs would block the sometimes helpful/useful info. For instance, high*quality Heath would not have pm'd me (just yesterday!) about my interest in purchasing fist fighters had he not been able to read my desire for them in my sig.
I would encourage moderation or timeliness. Not so many animated gifs at once. Or, toys2cool, like you did before with the Aquahawxxx Uprising of 2007, make your sig have to do with something recently happening.Leave a comment:

Is there a way for the Museum to just shut down animated avatars and animated signatures across the board ?
I'd say just do that.
I personally don't mind if they're there... but I wouldn't miss them if they suddenly got gone either.
BTW, don't you dare touch my NON Animated Tony Orlando in the processLeave a comment:
