My dad laid the concrete in our yard in Miami on his own. He made a small pattern box out of 2x4's and used the kind where you dump the mix and then add water and it levels and dries really fast.
Similar idea to this:

The idea being that even if it doesn't come out even it still looks good.

yea that would've been awesomeTry calling a local redi-mix plant and see if they can recommend a contractor. And, find a contractor who only does concrete work, or better yet, only flatwork. Up here, few contractors do both walls and flatwork. I grew up with concrete; my dad had a poured wall company for 30 years and then I go and marry a plant manager. If I lived closer, I would do your yard. I am quite good at flatwork,...for a girl.
i would've traded you toys for some labor

Then in that case...just kill all the lawn/weeds...and place bark or gravel...to make your backyard maintanance free....plus it gives it that state park feel, lol.
Oh wait, you live in hurricane country, never mind, lol.Leave a comment:

dam that's exactly the price I was hopingWell, that's right up our alley; hubby's day job is a redi-mix plant manager.
So,...47x16x4 = approx. 9.5 yards of concrete at (Michigan price) of about $100 a yard = $950. Average labor for flatwork here in Michigan would be to double the concrete price. So, if you lived here,....$1900. But I imagine everything is more expensive in Florida.
On a related note, last night hubby and I poured a driveway for the neighbor, so I spend the night with trowel in hand.
and I was told it should be around
But the guys who came told me $3500 financed or one guy $2750 cash but I don't want to pay that much cash at one time
thanx guysLeave a comment:
