Just to clarify, Connery is my favorite Bond. I never like Brosnan (boring) Dalton (poor choice) or Moore (too silly) but after seeing Royale, I said to myself, "Yes this is how Bond should be done." I did not feel the same way after seeing Solace though and from what I've heard, the creators realized their misstep as well. I like Connery just fine but watching him as Bond is like watching an old Sinatra film. No matter how good it is, it's from an era that made movies differently and it's glaring. Also there's a quality issue when it comes to his films too (as in Goldfinger is awesome, Never Say Never Again is awful.) Craig is not the best Bond, Connery is but Craig brings a new element to the character that none of the others did and the movies he's been in have reflected that. It's also odd how I find everything else Craig has been in to be lacking in some way. He's like Huge Jackman in that regard when he's Wolverine vs. when he's not. IMO there are 2 different kinds of Bond fans
1. People who love their era Bond no matter what
2. People who think the "current" Bond is the best

Sean Connery will always be James Bond just as Christopher Reeves will always be Superman but I'm kind of of the opinion, that just because an actor becomes synonymous with the role, doesn't mean they're in the best movies. In the case of Superman, sure Reeves brought the character to life but those movies are really, really bad. When I think of Superman now, I think Tom Welling. Connery may be the best Bond, but you can't tell me all of his Bond movies were great and they are all terribly dated and drawn out by todays standards. I think when all is said and done, if they stick to the format of Casion Royale, Daniel Craig is going to go down as the actor who was in the best Bond films.
