Vic Rattlehead was Megadeth's version of Maiden's Eddie. Artist Ed Repka did tons of album covers.

Wasn't the artist named pushead if i remember correctly. I think he did early Motley Crue, and some Megadeath drawings as well.

Pushead has done a lot of well known work for Metallica over the years.

Ok cool cause it was that cover i was thinking as far as megadeath went. Now i know as well. I really need to dig deeper into pictures of allister cause i swear i saw his sig in the corner. Oh well this might take a while.

These were my scores today. For those uninitiated, the more rare shirts here would be the '77 Pink Floyd and the '76 ZZ Top. 70s shirts are generally harder to turn up--most of these are 70s. That Wings shirt is from '76 and is a pretty tough pull. '81 Stones with dragon is not very rare (i've had it a least 5 times in the past) but in demand and very popular design. Yay tour shirts!

Ok apparently my memory is fuzzy and maybe a friend told me that and i believed them but i can't find anything backing it up either. I did find that allister was the narrator of '"In the beginning" the part b4 shout at the devil. Weird talent but i can say it word for word. I made the wife listed to the 2 disc live crue about a month ago and did it for her. Her reply was just "Lovely"

I remember that Crue intro all to well. It is pretty cool.

I did not want to say for sure because I really did not know for sure on the other bands that you mentioned. I was doing some background research on Megadeth just a little bit ago and I see that Ed Repka did most of their earlier art work.

One of my all time Megadeth favorites was Peace Sells....But Who's Buying. I love that art work! Now after all these years and thanks to reading this thread I finally looked it up and found out the person that made it.

I'm pretty sure he did the character alister fiend for Motley. Not sure what the picture was for Megadeath.

I do not recall seeing his name on the bands you mentioned above.

I do remember seeing his name on most of my Metallica covers though.

The price of material things does not suprise me at all these days. People like stuff and if they truly do want it they will pay for it.

I was always a fan of Iron Maiden's art work more so than their actual music. The album covers, shirts, posters and whatever else they make is pretty cool just to look at. Some of their music is not bad either. I listened to Iron Maiden when I was younger. I still listen to certain Iron Maiden tunes everyone now and then.

I was fortunate enough to keep all of my concert shirts. Something told me that they would be worth $$$ some day.

No judgment here. I, that being me and/or myself, just don't get the appeal. Other folks dig them and that is fine by me. I know that 99% of folks in the world would not be able to tell a DM Bruce Wayne from an original Mego. I am just in the 99% when it comes to rock Ts. Perhaps some folks will gain if any of my high school memories have survived the years.
You're gonna have to be awfully skinny, tho.

Looking back now, I liked the album covers more than I dd the music. Particularly since a t-shirts or posters were an easy way to annoy teachers and other authority figures.

I cam see it going for that much... Vintage clothing, particularly concert shirts are a huge market. Much bugger than our toys given the wide reach bands like ths ave and that sweet spt of teen rebellion nostalgia.

Eddie is pretty darn awesome across all hs incarnations.

Not really. It's easy to make a shirt that LOOKS like a vintage tee, but just like any collectible, it's pretty easy for those that are experienced to tell the difference 'tween fakes/repros and the real deal.

Like Bill said, you could find vintage blank tees and screen on 'em but even then there are ways to tell.

I love concert tees. Just bought 14 pretty good ones today!

As for the auction, Maiden shirts are some of the more highly collectible concert tees. Not surprising at all. This shirt would also be VERY difficult to convincingly reproduce......
