My parents were thoroughly embarassed by taking my siblings and I to see "Changing Places". I don't even think they looked at the movie rating. I think I was 13 or 14, my brother would have been about 12 and my sister 9. The funny upside to it all is that my mom has a pretty good sense of humor and even though she was mortified at the time; she laughs whenever we bring it up.

Has a film ever embarrassed you in the theater?

People kept leaving - and they couldn't just leave - they had to make little noises to show their disgust. Like, they'd say to the person they were with "That's it for me" before they got up - but they were saying it loud enough so the rest of the audience could hear too. So annoying.Comment

Embarassed and insulted by Robin Hood when Costner fell out of his bad English accent in the middle of a scene. I left about 10 minutes later. I asked for my money back, but the manager just walked away from me without saying a word.

I went to see the Watchmen the day it opened at the IMAX Theater… I was still hobbling around with a cane after breaking my ankle and loaded down with a giant drink and popcorn tried to get a seat while the mob rushed in. This nice girl helped me get a seat and asked me to save 2 seats for her and her boyfriend… I was more than happy to do it as she had been so helpful. (I was already feeling like a geriatric) She sits next to me and asks if I read the graphic novel, to which I reply “Yeah, monthly when it first came out” to which she replies “Wow that was 5 years before I was born.”
Movie starts--- (Did I mention that I had a sinus infection and my nose was completely stopped up?) movie progresses and here I am sitting next to a 16 yr old girl gasping for air and Silk Specter and Night Owl do the deed…. I felt so damn old, creepy and embarrassed at the same time.Don't be sorry. How would you know? You've been watching MTV all your life.Comment

I won't go into details, but if Paul Reubens ever asks you to go see a movie with him, please pick a separate row to sit. That was awkward...I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

OK ... I must Confess.
Bad Parent Moment Here ..., I am learning as I go ,... or atleast try to I promise.
I took my 9year ..., I hope he was atleast that Age at the Time , ... To See the Movie 300 .
I had no Idea that it had all the Sexual Theme Scene's and Subject Material in the Movie. I kept Covering His Eyes .... and Pluging his hears.
My Dad was Taking me to Action and Sci-Fi Movies like Aliens since I was 8 or as Young as I could remember ..., So since I was Raised that Way ..., I perhaps let my Son Watch somethings Others Would Not ...
But Damn ..., Did I feel about as Big as 1 Person Could Possibly Feel taking him to that Movie in a Packed House ..., and I am Pretty Confident He was the Youngest 1 by 10 Years.
I think I got Mean Mugged By Every Chick there on the Way Out.
Thank God I didn't let Him View Watchmen and the Magical Blue Dong that grows to take up the entire screen at times.Last edited by BlackKnight; Jan 16, '12, 10:44 PM.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I cannot relate an experience of being embarrassed at a theater. My ebarrassing moments all revolve around the VCR and DVD. My first was after hearing raves about "Naked Lunch" I waited years to find a copy and when I did (Being 18 and still living at home) I had to view it with the parentals in the room. I liked it but they did'nt get it. The second was at work of all places. My supervisor always goofed off at work, IE watched DVD's and the like. I had a copy of "Ricky-O" and he BORROWED it without my permission. He and his suck-up almost threw up watching it.Comment

Gross historical inaccuracy in movies often makes me want to walk out. I almost walked out of Braveheart, Titanic, The Patriot, and a bunch of others.
But then again, historical accuracy is always one of the first things to be sacrificed on Hollywood's altar of box office returns.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

Just a point of information you might find intresting but if you had tried this in the UK you would have been refused admission and if you had somehow got in you would have been arrested when you came out.Comment

When I was like 14-15, a lot of movies were off limits to someone my age. They checked your age thoroughly in those days 'let's see some ID'.
Weeks before I turned 16, I managed to sneak into an R rated movie. Dressed to kill. First thing I saw was Angie Dickinson get a good old (deleted) in the shower. I didn't know Police Woman had it in her....
