With a burger...of course you have to go with the fries.
With a steak...fries look silly...a baked potato with all the trimmings rules...butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, paprika, sea salt, cracked black pepper...heavenly...lol.
I tend to have baked potato a lot more often than fries.
It takes a lot more preparation and time to make home fries...you have to peel them (unless you want the skin, which is awesome as well)...wash them, dry them...freeze them (they crisp up a lot more)...then dry them again...heat the oil...and start deep frying those bad boy. Delicious...but a lot of prep work.
You can oven bake them as well...but who wants oven-baked fires? Not me...lol.
You can also buy the already cut fries...and cook them...but they don't taste as good.
A baked potato on the other hand will be ready...if you go the microwave route...in five minutes.
Here are some home made fries I made a while ago...with the skin on...I like to add sea salt and lots of cracked black pepper...yummy
