I really liked NIN's version. Then I heard Johnny Cash's version and I loved it. But you've just topped them all with Kermit's version. That is 100% awesome!

I don't know of a Simon and Garfunkel version of Crimson and Clover, but Tom Petty did cover the Tommy James and the Shondells song.

Type O Negative did a cool cover of Seals & Croft's "Summer Breeze" too. The Isley Brothers also covered "Summer Breeze," but I'm actually not crazy about their version (mostly because of the part they added at the beginning). I like the Jason Mraz version of "Summer Breeze" pretty well, but I think I prefer the original to all of the covers on that one.

A deceptively simple song, but each cover seems to find a unique take on the material. I love the Dylan original and the Hendrix cover, of course... more recently, the Dave Matthews Band and (oddly enough) the new Battlestar Galactica do interesting covers...

It's one of those songs, when I hear about somebody doing a cover of it, I want to groan... because it feels like it has been done to death, and yet... I usually walk away pleased with the rendition.
Actually, I believe it's the DEFINITIVE "cover" song....yet...not a big fan of
    the actual song.

I also love Shock The Monkey but not the original Peter Gabriel version, the version done by Coal Chamber with Ozzy. It just rocks! (as does Coal Chamber)

Metallica's One is also done well by Korn in concert.

God Save The Queen by both the Sex Pistols and Motorhead. Both versions rock but you can't ever beat the Sex Pistols!

I seem to like the remakes more then the originals most of the time. Not sure why.

Oh Yeah! Bill Withers' version is my favorite, but I really like the version done by "Me First and the Gimme Gimmes" too.

For me it's probably the song "California Dreamin'"
The Mamas & the Papas, The Beach Boys, R.E.M., John Mayer, plus many, many others. Hell, I even like Queen Latifah's version.

I have a BIG treat of a version that'll be ready to send your way within a
few months performed by one of my favorite artists and greatest muses.
I heard her play it recently "live" and was blown away.

Personally, I've performed it "live" too but never recorded it...
I DO however have mp3s of studio versions of me
    performing LOOSE and TV EYE.
