My vote is thumbs up. As much as I'm a fan of the classic look, putting wings on the head wouldn't seem very Superheroish in the real world, IMO, nor practical. Unless they were used as antennas of some sort. Like the color of the boots, gloves and belt.
Imagine some guy like that coming at you with full force.

The reason Comic Fans don't make comic movies is because the only people who would watch them would be comic fans.

because they wouldn't change a thing, and it'd be the same old tired story and look that everybody's seen a thousand times.

and it'd look ridiculous, because the costumes in the books look ridiculous in real life.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

Well, then, to take that point to its ultimate (no Marvel pun intended) conclusion, why then, put them in costumes at all? "Realistically", after the super-soldier treatment, either the gov't wouldn't let cap go fight, or he'd become some high-end supercommando/ranger they send on dangerous, impossible missions -- in regular army gear. And Bruce Wayne would wear not much more than a ski mask and body armor (like SWAT guys do) and wouldn't bother with all the bat stuff. Peter Parker *might* wear a crazy costume, patterning himself after pro wrestlers to a degree, but it wouldn't look as slick or put-together as what he had in the movies. And why would Superman bother with a super-suit and cape?

The costumes are part of the conceit of comics, and when you start questioning that, you need to start stripping the whole thing down, and you end up with stories like Aronofsky's costumeless crime movie proposal for Batman -- interesting idea, yes, but not really Batman.

So, with Cap, really, the costume *is* part of the formula -- or you're just making a war movie . . . nothing wrong with that, but not Captain America, either.

I think it's not taking it to the ultimate but a blend of reality and fantasy. A middle ground that mixes comics in a real world setting.
Having wings on the cowl would look cool and if you seen the old Cap Am unreleased movie you will get your fill but there something about it that just seemed out of place. I can only imagine how the wings would get in the way when moving around or fighting.
I wish they made Batman's ear small ala Frank Miller Dark Knight. That made sense to me in regards to aerodynamics. But they made them into antennas.
I guess logically to me having no ears on Cap Am makes sense being in the middle ground.

On another note I like the idea of a costume-less Batman and an outcast Superman because he is freak, the more psychological approach in reality. Aranofsky does have a point. But that is my taste. I'm more into psychological candy that is pleasant for the brain rather than eyecandy with no substance. Like a couch potato being fed via the boob tube.

I read Marvel for years until the McFarlaee era destroyed everything. MY cap HAS WINGS, MY Nick Fury ain't bald, and MY marvel universe had the richest history in comics, no alternate universes ala DC, which is why I hated DC in the first place, man Cap never gets a break, every figure is F'ed every movie likewise....

Here is the trailer for the 1990 unreleased version. It looks almost cartoony a la Dick Tracy minus the cartoon back drop.

The costume looks great but it feels campy. I guess it's okay if you like that but I assume the gen. pub. wouldn't take it seriously.
I like the new outfit and old one rocks and will always be my fav.

You got it. Fanboys lol. What exactly did the wings do anyway? Maybe they made him more aerodynamic.

                        >Looks slightly different then what was posted:

I dunno. The thing I don't like about it is how it looks like so many other superhero movie outfits as of late. (Maybe he swiped it from the Phantom?) They're trying to make an inherently unrealistic design look realistic and it kinda comes off as silly. Because they real-life'd it all up it creates certain expectations in the mind of the viewer; which it doesn't fulfil 'cos a suit like that would be insnaely uncomfortable and impractical. (Thanks to the harness it'd be trying to fold you in half.) The colour doesn't help.

Seriously; if you're doing a superhero movie you've ALREADY crossed over to the fanciful!
