Howl like a wolf and a witch will open the door...
To answer the question, I'd rather wear headphones and not hear either.

I heard that Koala Bears make quite the racket when they are "doing it".
I can't verify that though, since there aren't any in Wyoming.

I would rather hear cats wail than dogs barking. It's more likely to end sooner.

Our idiot neighbors moved in about a year 1/2 ago and got a chocolate lab, which they allowed to run wild through our yard. Eventually I put up a fence, but that doesn't block the noise. They let it bark all day. Starts about 6:30 am, off & on until dark..Drives you crazy, Not that I think these people are malicious, just lazy & stupid- although how you can ignore the noise outside your own window when it's godawful 15 ft away in my house? I've talked to these knuckleheads about 10 times, but after a day or two it starts again. The boro does have an ordinance against it, and we've reported it more than once to the police, but of course, when they get to the house it's inside & quiet. Then we look like crazy people out to cause trouble. I actually dread nice days..it was fine through the winter, but it's all started up again this week as it warms up.

                Anybody have a suggestion?

Pop him with a BB gun a few times when the neighbor aint there.

After a while he'll be afraid to go outside -- he'll start sh_tting inside and the neighbor will get rid of him.

Yes, it's cruel but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

The Daisy RedRider works wonders. After a couple of times all you have to do is shake it. The dog will hear the bbs rattle. On another note, think that I would rather hear either the cat or dog over my wife's snoring.

it's not the dogs fault....he is just being a dog. don't try and hurt him. Call the animal shelter and report animal neglect. they should come around and investigate. if nothing else it might make them think twice before leaving the dog out all day. As far as the cats, if you can see them, spray them with the hose. Cats hate water

Yeah, not going to go hurting the dog over the idiocy of his fat stupid owners...maybe I'll just send Obese-Wan a ham sandwich and hope he channels Mama Cass.

Seriously, I have talked to the police a couple times and I have an appt next week with the borough manager. I'd just like to get the ordinance toughened up with some specifics, as it's vague enough as is to make enforcement a crap-shoot based on how much the cop wants to get involved.

You can Spray a Cat with a Hose,.. it will shut right up.
Can't do the same with a Dog.
