One of the greatest films ever, John Ford's 1940 classic "The Grapes of Wrath" featured a young (9-years-old) Darryl Hickman (who was really good in the film). However, "Leave Her to Heaven" will probably be the film he will most always be remembered for (very good performance). There simply are not very many actors left alive from the "Golden Age of Hollywood." He was a really, really solid child actor in the 1940's. While he never quite made the transition as an adult into films, he made a lot of TV appearances. Like many child actors, he later resented his childhood. Due to the acting, he felt he really had no childhood. Always a very gracious autograph signer through the mail, he stopped signing at age 90. Darryl was 92.
