Little Richard: the King and Queen of Rock ânâ Roll
â
In this new PBS documentary, experience the meteoric rise and the enduring legacy of singer Little Richard.
Saw this on PBS (that Channel again!!) And Even though it is a time piece (1980's) It does show the history and influence that this man has had on Rawk and Rall!! In fact I will even go as far as saying, that he was a Godfather of Heavy Metal!!! We see his life as a youngster growing up in Macon, Georgia in a family of 12 Kids. Leaving home at age 14! Due to his Father not approving of his "Look", he sets out to be a musician. Needless to say it is ROLLER COASTER RIDE and there is never a dull moment. My highlight was his 1962 Euro tour and his performance at the Granada Theatre in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He is deciding whether to do his gospel set or to do his R&R hits. And then he Launches into LONG TALL SALLY! The place ERUPTS and there is almost a RIOT!!
I am sure on this tour a very young IAN FRASER KILMISTER saw this tour and his fate and the fate of many others all over the planet were sealed!
Mr. Penniman is a very likeable person and I enjoyed this flick very much!

Tonight boyfriend and I went to see Shyamalan's Trap.

The movie was very good and just about when you figure out the movie, you don't. Also, it was great to see Hayley Mills. I grew up watching her movies.Leave a comment:

Time to start over again with a new foreign exchange student. This time we got a girl from Japan since the boy left so much behind. So she wanted to watch Inside out 2.

Death Game 1977
Sondra Locke and Colleen Camp invite themselves in to a man's home , eventually seduce him and then torture him.
My friend assumed this was going to be a exploitation film but I don't think it really was. There is some racy stuff but it was kind of done....arthouse.
An interesting movie I'm glad I saw. Death_Game_poster.jpg
Did some research and...
Death Game has been remade twice. It was first adapted into the 1980 Spanish film Vicious and Nude (Spanish: Viciosas al Desnudo), directed by Manuel Esteba and starred Jack Taylor, Adriana Vega, and Eva Lyberten. This release's sex scenes and violence are much more explicit than in the 1977 original.
Death Game was remade again as 2015's Knock Knock, directed by Eli Roth and starred Keanu Reeves, Ana de Armas and Lorenza Izzo. Some of the principal cast and crew of the 1977 film participated in the production of Knock Knock. Peter S. Traynor, Larry Spiegel, Sondra Locke, and Colleen Camp were all credited as executive producers. Anthony Overman and Michael Ronald Ross are credited with the story. Camp also has a cameo in Knock Knock.
What a Legacy!!Leave a comment:

Today boyfriend & I watched Twisters.
twisters 2.jpg
It was a great sequel. It paid homage to the original in about 4 scenes but was a different movie and ended differently. Worth going to see at the theater.

James Paxton (son of Bill Paxton) character Cory was a 'fun' character was part of one of the homage scenes.Leave a comment:

To Be Takei (2014)
This was on PBS last week and I finally watched it today. Sadly this was an EDITED Hour long version. But it was very informative and entertaining. It opens with George and his husband: Brad going for their morning walk. In the next hour we hear George talk about his childhood, growing up, His first "Experience", his marriage to Brad. some of his work experiences in TV and film. Rohwer Arkansas: WOAH! This was a rough part of the film and George talks about Hurting his dad years later in regards to the internment experience.
They show interviews with the old Star Trek cast: Nichelle, Walter, Leonard, Shatner, No Doohan! Shatner is a prick. His homophobia is so apparent.
George's partner is pretty pleasant for the most part, except...
When it comes to money! We see the two at EMERALD CITY Comic con, and Brad is collecting $Ca$H$ AND HERDING PEOPLE like cattle!!! In and out, in and out. ***????
ALLEGENCE; a play based on George's Internment experiences is also talked about and we see a clip with George and it is very emotional.

Apparently the film was 80 minutes long with an extra 80 minutes of more interviews. SO I need to go out and get a full copy!!!

Took the whole family to the theater to watch Disney/Pixar Inside out 2 and got nephew the kids meal that matched. Before we went, we watched Inside Our 1 and the mini cartoon Inside Out: Riley's First Date. The movie was fun but just seemed better with a room full of kids laughing throughout the movie. So go and watch this at the theater first.

This morning boyfriend & I took nephew to the movies for free flashback kids movie: Shrek (2001).
th (15).jpg
To be truthful I do not remember if I saw this at the theater or when it came out for sale first. What made this fun was sitting in a packed out theater listing to kids laughing throughout the movie.
Now what made feel old, boyfriend had to say "well I didn't see this at the theater because I was born in 2000".
