Hello fellow members,
I wanted to post a thread about a special project that I was able to see come together at Hasbro. I wish I could say, I got to work on it : ( But a few of my closest colleagues did.
Hasbro Toy Shop is selling a book of action figure photography, by Gianni Lopergolo. It is filled with his beautiful and inspiring work and words. Gianni created many memorable images for the Marvel, Star Wars and GI Joe lines. Sadly I never got to work with him, because he is battling ALS, also known as Lou Gehrigs disease. I was really impressed that Hasbro put this book of his work together, the realization of a dream of Gianni’s. All proceeds from the sale of the books, benefit his family as well as the National ALS foundation.
As action figure enthusiasts, I think a lot of us will get a thrill out of the book. Learning how he created the sets, scenes and effects in scale to the figures. I have purchased a copy and plan to buy more as gifts, maybe one for the next mego meet raffle.
