End of an Era...Pizza Hut Name Change

People that like Pizza Hut and ANY other chain pizza place should come visit NJ/NY and have some nice mom & pop pizza from a place called Vitos, Sals, Ginos, Antonys, Vinnys etc... Then you'll know what REAL pizza suppose to taste like

Pizza Hut has decided to drop the "Pizza" from it's name and go simply by "The Hut"....

Blame recession cuts. Pizza Hut reportedly is slicing the "pizza" from its name. The fast food chain will now be known simply as "The Hut."

The chain, which has recently expanded its menu beyond pizza to include pasta, could not immediately be reached for comment Friday. Media and advertising trade publication MediaWeek characterized the name change as an attempt to transform its stores into hip hangouts. There are more than 10,000 Pizza Huts worldwide.

I say "end of an era" because I worked at Pizza Hut from '87 til '93 and it's where I met my wife....lotta good times back in the day...but I'm sooo glad I don't do that line of work anymore.

I think the name change is a little ridiculous....to me "The Hut" instantly brings to mind Jabba Pizza IS what they are after all and what put them on the map...Frank and Dan Carney must be rolling over in their graves. (See I still remember stuff from orientation....on a film strip...really hi-tech )
