William Tecumseh Sherman hated the media in his day. He thought of them as being as bad as spies, giving away military strategy secrets to the enemy and such. I've often wondered about that while watching documentaries about secret bunkers and watching battles unfold in recent wars. That and this kind of stuff is what gives the media a bad name. All forementioned and their tendancy to throw their opinions in stories to attempt to sway public thinking on any given topic. (Not that it happens all the time but I do see it much, much more than I would like).

I understand what Wrath is saying and agree. Here is a report yesterday from Swayze's rep who says he is not knocking on death's door.

That is what I am talking about. I don't mean to "feed the media" I just can't believe some ******* on Twitter made 30% of the world think Swayze was dead. That is the power of the Internet right there.

Jacksonville radio, eh? Florida radio is on par with those college radio stations that anyone could volunteer and get on the air. Unfortunately Florida radio has a frequency stronger than just the other side of the campus.
Larry the Cable Guy is easily the smartest man on the radio down here.

And AS a media ***** (maybe that should be my new title ) let me tell it is exactly this or any interest in subjects like this that drive SOME in the media to try and guess what will interest you.

We did NOT report on this, but the we were aware of the report which only actually hit on a Jacksonville radio station. I do know in our newsroom we heard abou the report and then tried to confirm it through Swayze's agent. He told us it was not true and we moved on.

BTW, I don't mean to come across as offended or even upset. I've seen my colleagues do enough damage to understand where these impressions come from.
