Could this be the end of View Master?

I loved my view master but todays kids have so much more than simple 3D.

I know I've posted this before, but View Masters have always been one of my favorite toys. I have a vintage set of standards and talkies at home, and newer sets of standards and the new talkies at school. My kids LOVE these! So what if they're not video games or Bakugan balls, the kids still groove on them. When they play w/ them they ask each other, "Which one are you watching?", as though it were TV. They're fun, they're engaging, and they're timeless. Yes, View Masters ROCK!

I have a View Master and a bunch of my original reels from childhood. I'll never get rid of them. I still look at them once in awhile. My favorite is Batman: The Purr-fect Crime. My son likes to look at them with me but he is 2. I'll make sure he always enjoys View Master especially if they stop making them. I even had the projector back in the 70's. It was great watching them on the wall.

I hope they at least keep making reels and the basic Viewer. View Master RoCkS!

Needless to say they never used Daddy's reels.

I recently read a vintage article about them, when they were major players and I wondered how they were fairing now. My kids don't have them but I planned to correct that.

There was an article in the paper today,it was about View Master.I know everyone had them as a kid,heck I still have some of mine.It said View Master made 10 million dollars last year,but not enough to keep shelf space for it.It said it was scaling back production to only certain items.Kind of a bummer,I guess another piece of our childhood thats gone.
