    Hmmmm....

I have two problems with Murphy:

-It seems like he's always cast to play "Eddie Murphy." So I have no idea how good an actor he is, since he's very seldom given a chance to be anything other than wacky.

-I'm kinda tired of seeing the same people in EVERYTHING; and when one of them is in a film multiple times it kinda makes that worse for me.

That Riddler rumor is bs and already been debunked.

Eddie's trying to be the new Peter Sellers... and I think his career's going that direction.

Here's hoping a Being There will happen for him before another Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu.

So, I will make it short and friendly.
Eddie Murphy who is still successful with making movies and goofy child friendly comedy shows. Is a total joke of his former self.

If Eddie Murphy ever wanted to save face. The one thing I think he should do and millions of his fans agree is get back on the stage.

Let's see if he can do stand up again.

Raw II or whatever. That would bring him back from the land of joke people parodies and shift him up there with Katt Willams and hundreds of comedians that are out there today that claim to be influenced by Eddie Murphy.

    My two cents.

Do you think Eddie still has it? (Hue. Take the mike...)
Thanks you for the support AND the opening Wrath....

But it looks like you and I don't see eye to eye---in fact---
I don't know if you noticed----but everyone else here agrees with ya

I know Murphy's made some bad stuff lately---but I think he's still got it.

    AS far as I'm concerned---once a star-----ALWAYS a star
----when it comes to playing a solid film role, I mean

I'd happily cast EDDIE MURPHY in a new movie in 2009
in hopes that he and the role clicked!

I still say 1999s BOWFINGER is one of his best movies ever---
it's only about a decade later-----he can do it again!

I honestly haven't watched any Eddie Murphy movies beyond Coming to America and the Shrek movies.

I guess the same could be said of Mike Meyers with all of the characters he plays in the Austin Powers movies.

Dan Aykroyd was right to "semi-retire" and deride the public
and movie business for losing interest in the "old news" guys----

I don't even appreciate Aykroyd to the point of Lewis/Murphy/Ferrel
but I still would have emapthy for him if he got chewed out here at the MM

These guys have a great sense comedy even in the face of
not always being on top of their game acting-wise or project-picking-wise.

I hated it so much I never saw the whole thing -----

if there WAS a dual role in there ---I missed it.

When Murphy was first in movies, I don't think there's been many people more charasmatic than him, but after Beverly Hills Cop, something changed. He made some good movies after that, but he never had the same energy again. His best work has been his vocal work in the Shrek movies. He lets the old Eddie out.

Okay---I'm not that impressed overall either.

NORBIT is possibly one of the biggest wastes of time for
anybody involved EVER made in cinema---but then again, so was PLUTO NASH
and there were no multiple roles in THAT one.

I have one thing to make ABUNDANTLY CLEAR in this thread though.

EDDIE MURPHY is STILL okay when he's given good material to work with.

PLEASE---if you haven't seen the movie BOWFINGER (also starring--and
written by STEVE MARTIN and directed by FRANK OZ) please GIVE it
    a chance and see it.

You can take it out on me if you don't like it.

MURPHY plays two roles in BOWFINGER and is simply BRILLIANT.
