Why do bands think it's okay to replace members that have been around for so long? Look at Styx as another example. At least you have to give Paul and Ringo credit for not replacing John and George and trying to bring back the Beatles. Oh and for KISS,there's plans in the works to replace Gene and Paul.

I'm not that big of a fan but it's idiotic to do it without Robert Plant.

For me it would be like a reunion of The Byrds without Roger McGuinn.

It's not the way to do things.

Gotta agree with everyone that Zep without Plant just doesn't work. The chemistry between Plant and Page was a huge part of the power of the band - a replacement just wouldn't be the same. Does anyone know if the Zep reunion concert is available on DVD?

Exactly. Tommy and Eric are better then Ace and Peter musically. Maybe that is what some bands need. To replace the old burned out and drunk geezers with new guys that look and sound like them.

KISS was really slick about it. They found guys that were not successful in other bands that worked with them before. They slowly worked them into the groove and outed Ace and Peter one by one. Before you know it, you looked up and saw Ace and Peter on stage (playing and sounding much better) but it really wasn't them. Kudos to KISS for being crafty and slick like that.

Pretty much boils down to this.
Robert Plant. Your little Alison Krause thing got lucky even making the charts. Finish it up, come home to Led Zeppelin you arrogant ******* and play the music that made you famous.

We really don't want to see Led Zeppelin + some dork who used to sing in a 70's rockband but is nobody these days tour. Right?

Oh, that is right. Queen did that. -barf- -barf-
How about Led Zeppelin + Leif Garret? About the same thing.

I think I am going to be sick.

Well, at least Robert Plant is still alive. Queen had no choice.

Well, at least before his plastic surgery in 2006, Robert did look like the living dead. So who knows, maybe Robert Plant hooked up with Agatha Harkness and he is a zombie and can't fully commit to his front man Zeppelin role.

I wish old geezers would stop trying to relive their glory years. I'd rather see them do other projects. it ain't Zep without Plant.

Honestly, I can't see Page and co. really going out without Plant, I think mainly it's a play to make Robert finally give in and do it.

Their sole recourse is to get another vocalist, and Paul Rogers sounds pretty awesome. But Plant is still around! Still belting out tunes! It would be ridiculous for "Led Zeppelin" to go touring when Robert Plant is another country, monitoring their progress from afar.
Sadly, KISS makes billions of dollars touring around Japan and the Australian areas with two fake dudes wearing Peter and Ace's makeup.
If Page put together a fake Led Zeppelin, he could rake in billions playing for Japanese and Australian audiences. I don't think they care who is who over there. They are just glad to have "big names" in their country.

This would be like what is currently passing as Queen. With out Freddie it's not Queen.
(Side note the current new single by sudo Queen sounds good, didn't want to like it but I do)

If Pineda is busy, Steve Perry isn't:-)

For those calling for Coverdale.....that would make it a Coverdale/Page reunion wouldn't it?

I'd love to go see Page, Jones and Bonham perform live, even without Plant. Calling it Led Zeppelin would be a bit ridiculous though, because they've got to know that almost noone out there would be accepting of it. But musically it'd be worth seeing. I saw Page and Bonham together in 1988, with a really good vocalist (whose name slips my mind at the moment) and they did some Zep tunes and I thought it sounded excellent. I'd be down with seeing that again.

I really wish Plant would just do the damn reunion. His stuff with Alison is pretty cool I admit, but it'd be nice for him to do this reunion just to finally put all the rumours and speculation to rest once and for all.

Zep without Plant is like the Stones without Mick.

    Worthless, imo

I agree! You cant call it a Zep re-union without Plant. For the fans Plant really should do it! But without him i would like to hear some new music.
