Justice League SPOILERS thread

picked up my Bluray this week and watched it again. I still like the movie, it's not perfect but few movies are.

As I understand it, there's no real good reason they can't have 4K3D. Not to go too off topic, but the short of it is, the manufacturers wanted to kill 3D in the US, and focus on 4K only. There were a few 4K TVs that supported 3D, but no longer. It's actually more simple than you'd think, and wouldn't add much cost. 3D still thrives in Europe, and I import a lot of 3D titles like the Last Jedi and Ragnarok, which are region free, requiring no special player.

It's a shame. The TV manufacturers decided to kill the technology just as conversions have matured to be really magnificent. (Ragnarok, Valerian, Guardians 2)

I'll be picking up a copy on either Bluray or 4K, not sure which one yet. I'm not sure as to why they can't have 4K3D. Maybe it has something to do with the way a 4K player decodes the info...?

I'm still going to buy it for now. I'm going to shop around for a good price, but I want to watch it again. If I deem another edit worthy to buy later, I'll consider it then. May be a while.

^I would wait. The alaternate/extended versions won't see daylight until the WB regime change is complete and Affleck bows out. Also, there's Snyder's contract and whatever riders he has over director credits.

Well, Warners kept saying "there is no Snyder cut", but I'd give it a few more years.

Very little in terms of deleted material. According to the Digital Bits, about 2 minutes worth. I went with the 3D version from Best Buy. Take that, 4K!

So i wish to purchase this on Blu Ray, any extended versions out there? I heard rumours of different stores getting different editions, is that true?

A fun game to play is "whose is what". Like the opening Superman and WW scenes are Whedon and Jenkins, but the credits, Batman and Cyborg stuff are full out Snyder. Flash was Snyders comic relief but Joss amped him way up.

Pretty clear Zack's first cut was brutally bleak. He just can't shale the Watchmen motifs.

Saw this a second time and recognized Marc McClure as the guard who signs Barry Allen into the prison. Checked the end credits and there he was. There's a lot to like and dislike in this movie.

Fair disclosure, I am a DC fan. Didn't care for Marvel when I was a kid, Batman fan all the way.

Finally saw Justice League and overall it wasn't too bad. There was a lot more humor in this film compared to B vs S, lighter tone and lots of Wonder Woman, which is a big plus.

But IMO, completely excluding Darkseid for Steppenwolf is unforgivable. It should have been kept as a two-parter or they should have worked Darkseid in towards the end. They didn't even tease that he could be coming, with his only mention being a single "for Darkseid" in the middle of the film.

Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman were sadly under developed, getting a brief origin synopsis each. If I weren't already familiar with these characters I would have a hard time appreciating how great they really are. Having seen expanded universes done the Marvel and DC ways, I prefer Marvel's by far. I wish DC could do it as well as Marvel does : (

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Justice League is currently sitting at a less-than-stellar 41%. However, that’s based solely on critic reviews.

As for the audience score? 82%. That puts Justice League in relatively close proximity to the 88% audience score of all three of Marvel Studios’ 2017 films: Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The merits (or lack thereof) of Rotten Tomatoes’ aggregation methods are an entirely different debate, but the fact remains that out of over 100,000 user ratings, 82% of fans enjoyed Justice League versus the 165 critics who said the film was “Rotten.”
