Definitely in agreement that, after multiple viewings, MOS is a fitting entry into the Superman mythology (with a few minor quibbles I have discussed elsewhere on these boards). Is is a "perfect" Superman movie? By no means; it casts Superman into a much darker place than the character was ever meant to inhabit. Did it deserve better than 56% on RT? IMHO, yes, it does, but movies critics have a tendency to have a lack of independent thought, especially when it comes to superhero movies. One critic may sing a movie's praises only to be drowned out by a herd of "sheep" who are finding it easier to follow the path of least resistance and add to the cacophony of naysayers and those unwilling to look past previous efforts.
Is MOS, as Hector says, better than A:AoU? I'd would likely have to say yes simply due to the fact that Whedon, while his focus was laser sharp on the first Avengers movie, sadly found his vision muddled and confused in AoU while an actor who should have delivered an Ultron who was easily as chilling and menacing as any super villain can be, for some reason, whether it be script or interpretation or even direction, made that villain far too unimposing and, therefore, impotent as a threat.
I've only seen IM3 once, so I can't really say too much about it (it usually requires at least three or four viewings before stuff really starts to gel in my head) other than the fact that for a movie called IRON MAN, we saw very little OF Iron Man and a LOT of RDJ's ego being stroked. I would therefore have to agree with Hector again that MOS was, indeed, better than Man of Iron III.

Jena Malone's "Is she Carrie Kelly or Babs Gordon" scenes have been cut and moved to Blu-Ray...specifically the R-Rated version. I see that implying she's Oracle.

But WB has never wanted him in such a secondary role, so the only way they were going to finance is if they got another huge star attached to Shazam, and they haven't been able to. WB probably tried to shift/buyout his Black Adam contract, but since the production was originally set up at New Line, (who still exists even post-WB merger), all contractual obligations are valid. I know that from the Iron Man fiasco and what Avi Arad had to pull to get the rights away, as WB never intended to finance it which kept it shelved, aka "in development". Producers are independent players not employees, so they're not inclined to simply hand over property for the good of the company. When you've got one of the last actual stars who can turn out an audience under contract, and a cheap contract compared to his current rates, it's gold. The probably wanted producer credits on JLA, which is never going to happen as that splits the percentages even more.
But now, WB can have a verbal agreement in place and wait it out. To not include GL in the first JLA is risking fanboy wrath, but if they're doing it because they can fill the role with a real showstopper, than all will be forgiven. Also factor in how the next GL film is about the Corps and I can see Rock playing Stewart to a Guy Gardner.Leave a comment:

One thing I'm liking about the promotional blitz for this, is there does seem to be some degree of fun, and a touch of lightness to the film. This is what these DC films REALLY need. I'm less apprehensive about the actual film now. Still not keen on the promotional arm trying to ride every bandwagon they can find, but I have hope this will be less morose than MoS.
