If Hulk has Banner's brain, however, Superman's got a problem. Banner will science his way to a workable strategy to beat Superman. Throw in a final gamma-power haymaker, and Superman's down.
Superman is too fast for Hulk for that to happen. He has so many more advantages. Speed, heat vision, super breath, flight, etc. I'd say even on strength.

I'm being biased of course, but it's all so subjective. You also have the various versions of both, grey Hulk, red Hulk, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, etc... And on the other side you have pre-crisis Superman, post-crisis Superman, Kingdome Come Superman, Superman Prime One Million, and so on...

Cosmic Armor Superman/Thought Robot beats EVERYBODY...I mean EVERYBODY...yes...EVERYBODY...

Doc Strange alone beats Superman. Marvel heroes pretty much mop up the rest of DC's heroes.

Batman vs. Captain America - Only advantage here is Cap has the Super Soldier Serum in him, which prevents him from getting tired. Batman's still human, he'll get tired after awhile, so Cap just has to outlast him. Not easy, but it could be done. WINNER: MARVEL

Wonder Woman vs. Thor - I'm gonna give this one to Thor, but, again, its going to be close. Both are trained and tenacious warriors, both have super strength, both have weapons. Thor, however, can summon storms and lightning - one good jolt with a follow-up clocking by Mjolnir and down goes WW. WINNER: MARVEL

Aquaman vs. Sub-Mariner - Aquaman has this. They're evenly matched, but Aquaman can use the same talent for calling fish to screw up an opponent's mind, since we evolved from sea creatures way, way back when (established in the comics, kids!). Kind of hard to fight somebody who can drop you literally by looking at you. WINNER: DC

Green Lantern vs. Iron Man - GL by a country mile. A power ring powered by one's will and imagination that can create literally anything will easily dominate a guy in power armor any day of the week. WINNER: DC

Flash vs. Quicksilver - Flash. Classic Quickilver would get his keister handed to him ("Oh? You can run faster than the speed of sound, Pietro? That's precious." WHAM!). Current Quicksilver can run through time or something, but the Flash has been doing that for decades (with and without a treadmill. FLASH FACT!), so experience trumps new power hotness every time. WINNER: DC

Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye - Both are evenly-matched, both are skilled with other weapons besides the bow, both are rough housers when it comes to hand-to hand. WINNER: DRAW

Black Canary vs. Black Widow - See above. Canary's sonic cry might be an advantage, but Natasha can counter with her Widow's Sting and probably carries earplugs with all of her spy gear in her costume (how she fits all that stuff in a black bodysuit is beyond me, though. oh, comics!). Boils down to physical combat, and since they're both equally formidable... WINNER: DRAW

Martian Manhunter vs. The Vision - Gotta give this one to MM. Though they both have a more-or-less equal power set (intangibility, invisibility, power blasts - Martian Vision vs. the Vision's solar gem - strength, etc.), MM has shapeshifting as an advantage. J'onn J'onnz just has to turn into a puddle of goo, get inside the Vision somehow and fry his android circuitry. WINNER: DC

DC's got the advantage, but guaranteed, their heroes are gonna be limping and bleeding to the Winner's Circle.

Hmmmm. Phoenix and Surfer are interesting choices. I think I'd pick Thor instead of Hulk and see how that went.

Thing is, Firestorms molecular powers used the right way are pretty much invincible. One on one, he would beat both Superman and GL.

the molecule man helped the avengers out but don't know if you would class him as a hero or a retired villain.

Well, my thinking was: the JLA is too powerful for any one Marvel team. So, gang up on them and let the other matchups take shape.
And oops! I forgot Namor doesn't command sea life, does he??
I tried to stick to only the most popular heroes, but if we bring in the entire Lantern Corps... that'll change things!
Isn't the Silver Surfer kind of "indifferent?"
I suppose Dr. Strange could cast a game changing spell as well... maybe he neutralizes the JLA all by himself!

Any age Superman, including the first one, who just lifted cars, outran locomotives, and tall jumped buildings...beats Lou Ferrigno's Hulk...

    Yep
    Namor would destroy Aquaman !
Bronze Age Supes beats the Hulk, though. Not sure about the post-Byrne Superman, though.

Someone said here years ago that DC has better heroes and Marvel better foes; it's always struck me as rather apt.
